Wonderful Guest House in West End of Glasgow
We stayed at The Alamo guest house for 2 nights in December on a short trip to Glasgow for my wife’s birthday. From check-in to departure Steve and Emma could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The house is part of a gorgeous listed 19th century tenement in the West End of Glasgow overlooking Kelvingrove Park and museum. It is perfectly located for exploring the city as it’s only a half hours walk to George square or 15 minutes by bus. The surrounding area is also worthy of exploration with Kelvingrove Museum and park only a short walk away. We upgraded to one of the suites and it was fabulous, the room was very spacious with a lovely big bay window and the huge bed was so comfortable. Steve had taken great trouble to design the room for comfort and style, the fascinating en-suite bathroom arrangement is quite unique and quirky. The furnishings and decor were very tasteful and the original artwork was a nice touch. The house itself is really beautiful inside with highly ornate ceilings and coving throughout. A substantial breakfast with a delicious choice of fruits, cereals and yoghurts as well as a cooked option is served in the dining room overlooking the park. For dining out there are numerous restaurants and bistros only a stone’s throw away and the area always felt safe when walking around. Steve and Emma make you feel really at home here and we shall certainly return to the Alamo when next staying in Glasgow. Bob and Maggie Reid

Was a lovely clean hotel and the service was amazing only downside was that the room we were given room 2 didn’t have a bathroom so I had to go out into the hall to use the bathroom which I found a little daunting. Breakfast was amazing I would stay again just making sure I didn’t have this room again
