Kos Hotels

There's a number of ways to reach Stockport for both domestic and international visitors. Manchester Airport is a mere 7 miles away, which means flying in and getting to your hotel is a simple matter of grabbing a taxi at the airport. The town has a large train station too, which offers services to and from Birmingham, London, and Scotland. You're also, of course, only 10 minutes away from the bustle of Manchester by train – perfect for a day trip. Stockport itself has a reliable and frequent local bus service that can get you to most attractions in the area.

Things to see

Kos offers the simple pleasures – lounging on the soft, pearly sands of the beach, listening to the steady swoosh of the ocean, and enjoying a hearty stuffed pitta bread and tangy humus with an icy glass of Greek beer. There's no better place to languish in these pleasures than Tigaki Beach, where soft sands, sun loungers, and striped umbrellas stretch as far as the eye can see. You can take a swim in the balmy waters (that stay warm well into the early evening) or even get your heart pounding with a spot of paragliding. Paradise Beach is another must see if you want to soak in the sun. Bubble Beach forms part of the coast, where volcanic vents from the ocean floor form a natural spa experience for bathers. After a long day in the sun, head into Kos Town for some refreshing evening drinks, and some exciting local food.

Hotels in Kos

Kos hotels are both numerous and varied. You'll find luxury hotels complete with refreshing spas and shimmering pools, as well as vast resorts with tennis courts, cafés, bars, and more. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to find any hotel in Kos that doesn't provide access to an indoor or outdoor pool for an invigorating swim, or relaxing bathe. Some accommodation will also offer you a hearty complimentary breakfast, and it goes without saying that you'll find plenty of internet access points in public areas, as well as in your room. There's often plenty of activities for kids, too.

Where to stay

Kos Town is where you'll want to be if being close to the vibrant bars and nightlife is a priority. You'll also be able to catch ferry services here to the other islands in the area from the marina and port. Marmari is a great location if you're planning on spending most of your time on the beach. As well as being close to Tigaki Beach, there's a beautiful shimmering lake and park nearby, perfect for a family picnic. Alternatively, if you want to escape the crowds of Kos Town, head out to the Kefalos area for a little more seclusion.

How to get to Kos

You can fly straight to Kos from international destinations thanks to the Hippocrates International Airport located in the middle of the island. Thanks to its central location, you can get to wherever you're staying quite easily via taxi (or bus to Kos Town). There are also a number of ferry services that run from Kos Town if you're considering island hopping. You can reach Rhodos, Piraeus, and Leros to name a few. Getting around the island itself can be great fun on bicycle or scooter (which you can hire). There's also frequent buses from Kos Town to most other island locations.
