If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. I was extremely excited to stay here for my boyfriend’s birthday trip. However I shoulda gone and spent my money at La Concha. El San Juan hotel looks so beautiful online. Yet you come in and it looks run down, the lights in the lobby are extremely dark during the day to hide their imperfections. The rooms are mediocre, no one explained anything to us, they put a $500 hold on my card without even telling me that’s what the deposit is which is STEEP for a deposit on a hotel, not only that parking is expensive $28 if you self park and $33 if you valet. They also don’t tell you if you self park you have to get the ticket validated EVERYTIME YOU GO OUT and don’t let them be having some event at the hotel or you won’t even find a spot for parking you paid for.. AND LASTLY, our first night the ac didn’t work luckily that was rectified but then we got locked out of our room and they couldn’t even fix the door so they put a hole in the door so they could use it to stick something in and pull the handle down to open the door. Which not for nothing now compromised our safety through the night because anyone could see there was a hole in the door and could do exactly what the maintenance team did to get in. This was extremely inconvenient as we had to wait standing outside our door IN THIS CRAZY HEAT for at least 30 mins on multiple occasions for someone to come open the door. I complained to front desk and asked for some sort of compensation

Cons: Linen was wet on the bed and smelled like mildew, no wash clothes provided and when we asked for some the cleaning lady stated they were waiting on the linen to return. Not much options for food, after 11pm no food at all at the hotel. Pros: location is great $4 uber from the airport, restaurants walking distance from hotel, lots to do at the hotel

I spent close to 400 per night I was expecting cleanliness and upgraded accommodation's. Instead the room was dirty, had not been dusted, so humid that I slept in wet sheets the first night. The sink in the bathroom had mold along the edges, the bathroom itself needed improvement. The patio was dirty as were the chairs. I asked for the curtains to be switched out as they were all full of mold, from my first day and everyday. It never happened. Staff and front desk was nice enough but ignored my request. I was given an opportunity to take a cabin close to the beach but it meant leaving half my family in the main building as they would not accommodate for our second room. They sent up a large de-humidifier, and I had to ask a few times a day for it to be emptied...if I didn't ask it didn't happen. I ended up carrying about 3 gallons of water at least 3 times a day to empty it out. The restaurant doors were so dirty, wall paper peeling in certain areas...there was a ball of hair on the carpeting in the hallway of our floor...for days..never again.

I love the convenience of the property location. Loved the scenery. One thing i didnt like was i kept getting stopped to see my room key. If it is such a problem of people not having a reservation there and are still entering areas that they should not then the hotel should consider having hand bands given to room guests.
