Great place to stay away from the big city.
Great place. Shower was a bit sketchy but the corridor to get to the room was funny. Liked the bed, tv and the breakfast would bave been awesome bht we were in a rush and only got the quick continental bar.

A Gem in Peebles
Great hotel for a short break in the heart of Peebles. Easy access to all the surrounding amenities without the need of a car. Hotel has car parking. Overall service is good and friendly. Rooms are to a good standard. Restaurant food is good too. Would visit again.

Tontine Hotel in the heart of Peebles
Solo traveller staying for one night only. Only had the breakfast, of which there was a good selection of fruit, cereals, yoghurt etc. They also come round to take your order for hot food when seated and I have to say that was really good.
Staff are young and very professional in their approach, appearance and manner.
Beds nice and comfortable. Room was very clean, although the shower could do with upgrading. But, hey, warm water came out of it, so you could wash up 😉

OK, but time to modernize where it matters
Shower temperature regulation not working as it should (not warm enough) and clogged drain. Continental breakfast very basis and not enough qualty. Come on guys, not everybody wants bacon and eggs or beans early in the morning.

Everything was excellant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and bed very comfortable. Shower was a good size and everything was clean. Excellant breakfast. We will be back.

Hotel location is good, the room is updated and clean. Make to order breakfast is included. Great Service. On site parking is limited, but there are plenty of off site parking in the back.

Wonderful two-night stay
Two-night stay in April, Peebles is a small town and the Tontine is centrally located with ~10 parking spaces behind it. The staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and assistance with have some laundry done overnight. The included breakfast was excellent and filling. Would stay there again.

Wonderful place to stay! Staff was so friendly and nice! On the main street with the river behind it. Can't ask for a nicer location! Plenty of room to visit, play cards, have a drink or just reflect on your day!

My husband requested an accessible room due to having COPD. The room allocated was the ONLY room used for dogs, although the hotel was practically empty. Result my husband couldn’t sleep and was up both nights with palpitations and severe breathing problems. It was only on leaving I asked if this was a room used for pets and was shocked by the manager’s response. Unbelievable. Spoiled our holiday and won’t be back. Poor management.

Staff made us very welcome. Hotel very clean. Situated central to shops restaurants buses and walking areas. Parking area to the back. If stayed again though would ask for another room as we were in basement with no view.

Location of hotel is central to Peebles town centre with free car parking to rear.
The hotel is looking worn and in need of a refresh, throughout the hotel carpets need cleaning or replaced.
Room (2) is also worn carpets and ceiling looks like water damage in one corner, bathroom ok but unable to close door as door frame tight

The one word for this hotel is “impeccable “. The facilities are great and the food is excellent. None of the usual tepid buffet here! Everything is freshly cooked. Ten out of ten for everything. This is the first time I have ever given such a good review, and they deserve it.
