Many of the finest restaurants and dining experiences in Japan can be found in Tokyo. Head to the swanky sushi joints of Ginza for Michelin-star standard cuisine, or stick to the neighbourhood ramen joints for a bowl of hot ramen, then head to an izakaya to have your fill of yakitori chicken skewers with a few beers. Eating in Tokyo can cost a lot, but it doesn’t have to.

It’s unlikely that you’ll be stuck for somewhere to eat in Tokyo, but just in case, you can always go to department stores as they have a host of restaurants inside and they usually speak a little bit of English.
