Booked our international corporate partners to stay here and joined them for dinner. They were incredibly impressed! We also notified them of allergens a month in advance and they went above and beyond to accomodate for us given the menu changed that evening. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment I went to book the hotel to the moment we left after Dinner. The chef and kitchen staff make fantastic food and would highly reccomend eating here even if you choose not to stay. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would.

Lovely hotel. Rooms spacious and immaculate. Only disappointment was the food. Menu was not really to our taste and when we did manage to find something suitable the cooking was not great. My comments about tough meat which I couldn't eat were acknowledged. Otherwise great stay.

Charming hotel

Luttrell Arms is a charming hotel, full of character and we were made to feel so welcome by Julie on reception. Our room was amazing and very comfortable. Lovely gardens, perfect for a G&T in the late afternoon! We had dinner in the restaurant both evenings. Excellent food and a special mention to Gabor and Jules who both worked so hard. Already planning a return trip!

Fabulous Luttrell Arms

Havent stayed here before but would most definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a classy hotel stay. Everything about our 2 night stay was faultless. The room was fabulous and spotlessly clean and fresh.
Our balcony area with table and chairs. Perfect and very private too!

Beautiful place to stay

Room was very comfortable and we appreciated the cold water and use of the fridge, fresh milk and tea/coffee facilities. Dinner was nice but the vegetarian options were a bit disappointing and expensive. The meat options were good but hardly any vegetables on the side. The staff were friendly and professional

From the very warm welcome to the chatty farewell, everyone we encountered was super friendly and polite. The room was secure, clean and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice to suit everyone. Evening menu has a limited choice, but food good. The hotel has all the old creaking charm you could want, with lots of nooks and crannies to tuck yourselves into for a drink. Cracking beer garden with a castle view. Parking round the corner in the public car park unless you’re lucky enough to get one in the market square high street. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to visit again in the autumn.

I really did like it at this hotel. The secret gardens were beautiful, breakfast was brilliant, bed was comfy. There was a couple of repairs which should really be seen to like the net in the bathroom had a long tear down the middle and had mould on it, also the wardrobe door wasn’t in its runner. However this didn’t affect my stay and I would most definitely stay here again.

8/10 Very good

Excellent character property, with well trained and cheerful staff, good service and good food. Only criticism would be small choice of vegetarian options and no Sunday vegetarian roast choice. Like others, we enjoy our Sunday lunch and were disappointed to have only a risotto or pasta dish offered. Why can’t a nut roast be offered as well

6/10 Good

Left an odd feeling ….

Hey it’s a good hotel, beautiful old building in the centre of the village. Ostensibly pleasing, but oddly the staff seemed very stressed. I was told at check in I should have informed the hotel I was doing the Ultra Challenge. Why?? The outdoor pizza in the evening was chaotic, waiting 55 mins then frankly it was stodgy. The bar staff didn’t know what they had behind the bar, for example didn’t know if they any bitter. All strange. Fabulous comfortable hotel but could be so much more relaxing if the staff were ‘on it’. Sad to say I wouldn’t go back.

8/10 Very good

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, a few niggles

Pros: building is full of character, room was a good size, shower was powerful and hot, fridge and tea/coffee facilities in the room, staff were very welcoming and friendly, large portions in evening meals, lovely breakfast with combination of cold buffet and hot food to order. There’s no car park and limited free parking outside but the hotel will reimburse any parking costs you’ve paid. Cons: room was hot but with the windows open there was quite a bit of noise from traffic and also people gathering outside the hotel, probably not an issue if your room is at the back. The rigatoni pasta was tasteless (I wish I’d seen the other review saying this before I ordered!), the other food we had was lovely. Some of the residents lounge seating areas were not comfortable for eating a meal (sofas/armchairs) and service in the bar was not as good as in the restaurant. Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful hotel.
Superior double room
Rigatoni pasta with asparagus (substituted for mange tout), courgette and peas - pretty but very bland

10/10 Exceptional

Really old place steeped in history but spotlessly clean with mod cons. Friendly staff, all with warm welcomes from reception, bar, restaurant, breakfast and housekeeping - a credit to the hotel. We had a Finest double room with private courtyard garden, comfy armchairs, double wardrobe, huge bathroom and quality linen and towels. Lots of small bar areas keeping it cosy and quirky. Parking is an issue because of it's great location in the heart of this medieval village and being a 15th century building, no doubt the horse and carriage back in the day had no problems! But we managed to park a100 yards down the road in the public car park with reasonable charges. There is free parking in the High Street if you can get a space, but we where there over the Bank Holiday weekend, so it was very busy. Dunster castle is walkable as is Dunster station on the West Somerset Railway Heritage line. Wonderful birthday weekend!
