Our family goes to Las Vegas several times a year and we usually stay in the middle of all the chaos on the strip. We finally got wise and stayed on the south end of the strip where things are clean and family friendly. Huge bonus that it is easy to get on and off the Interstate. I don't think we will ever go back to the craziness of the main strip!
The rooms at the Silverton have been nicely remodeled. They are clean and quiet. The service is top notch and the casino and restaurants have a lot to offer. We especially love that it is connected to the Bass Pro Shop with the aquarium. It's a cheap, easy way for our grandson to get his energy out.
From now on, if we want to go and see a show at the MGM or another big casino, we will just drive up there and then return back to the quiet of the Silverton.
The biggest downside I have found is the snack trays in the room. They have sensors, so if something accidentally gets bumped out of it's place, they will immediately charge you. You can request an audit and they will refund your money if everything is still there.
Overall, this is a gem of a casino/resort and we will definetely be back!
