Wonderful one night stay!
Booked a 1 night stay as a treat for my husband's special birthday. We weren't disappointed. Warm welcome from reception. We arrived earlier than the check-in time and were given our keys straight away as our room was ready. Free upgrade to a suite with sea view. Free bubbly placed in our room with chocolates. Fabulous breakfast. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Some reviews criticised the communal areas stating they needed refurbishment, but it wasn't that bad. I am surprised it holds a 5 star status though. More a 4 star. The new refurb rooms look nice and fresh, but I didnt like the colour scheme - quite bland for the period of the property. Some nice rich coloured soft furnishing would make the rooms look more oppulent. But that's personal state I guess.

Absolutely the best hotel I have stayed in England! Check in fab, hotels.com gave us a b upgrade to a sea view which was amazing because it was my husbands 50th then the hotel gave us a drink at the bar on them for is birthday, the breakfast outstanding!
