My second time staying here. It shows its age inside but my room was clean and it's a great location! Can be noisy at night if room overlooks the sea though as lots of stag and hen do's in Brighton!

Would definitely stay again
Upon check in we were told we had been upgraded to a larger room. A lovely surprise as it was a birthday trip. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. All the common areas on the ground floor were nicely laid out and colourful. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Would have been perfect if they offered more coffee options other than filter. Overall a good stay and would go back.

Great stay
Great and welcoming service. The hallways are a bit worn out, but then we were surprised by how nice the room was. It was perfect! The breakfast was amazing.

Bands Love The Old Ship !!!!!
We love staying at the Old Ship, and we appreciate the staff accommodating our parking requests. We're a small band on the road, and your garage makes our gigs so much better as street parking is terrible for travel of this nature.
Bradley, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Terrible
This hotel is a 2* . It’s condition is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in years. Mouldy walls , dirty windows , broken floorboards the list goes on. Won’t be staying again until a complete renovation takes place.

The barhrooms, fresg water, nice white towels, dog friendly, staff were very patient and kind.
Donna, 1-night trip

Amazing location. Room too hot for us though.
Fantastic location. Loved sea view room. Room very spacious. Room and bathroom very clean. Room was just too hot for us so we didn’t sleep very well. Fan in room didn’t make much difference. Radiator was on maximum all the time which we had no way to adjust/turn off.

Parking in basement of hotel with direct access to reception. Cost of £25 per day Lovely warm room as cold day outside. Good bar and popular.

The shower was cold and whilst they said let it run for a few minutes it never warmed up.

New Years Eve Stay
An old hotel but staff very efficient and beds very comfortable as well as location right on the seafront. For the price you can't ask for more.
Nigel, 1-night trip

Comfortable and quaint
Lovely staff, quaint old building and VERY comfortable beds. Warm and clean, albeit a little dated and need of a bit of TLC in places. Running tap water for a few mins to get hot water is disappointing (especially as I try to be environmentally friendly) but this is "due to the age of the hotel and the pipework" I must have half filled a bath before hot water came through!
Steve, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

The hotel was in a very poor state. The room was cold
Adrian, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Unfortunately, the room had an unattractive view of a grubby pigeon area which was grim. Also tve washbasin hot tap dribbled. I would not stay in the room again.
SUSAN, 2-night trip
