NICE STAY
Think they could do with more staff, 1 lady running the breakfast, cooking and Reception is not ideal and I would say far from safe. But overall a nice stay

Miss clews
The staff are lovely and very welcoming, but the bathroom in our family room was not up to standards, the shower head had black all over it and needed a good clean. when i cleaned it myself and finely got in the shower it then flooded at the base because the draining was blocked 😮‍💨 its a shame because it was a lovely room but the bathroom let it down.

The main overall stars I've given are for the hotel's convinience to the train station as i had an early train connection. I didn't use the rest of the facilities but I was disappointed by the bed linen which was stained , the mattress protector to be precise and one of the towels. Otherwise I'd have given a detailed review it id checked in earl

1 night business stay, I'd stay again!
1 night stay whilst travelling for business, good value, comfortable room with all the ameneties needed, great sized shower, quick and simple check in, breakfast was slightly more limited on choice than some other hotels but was very tasty and at the pricepoint the hotel is charged at I have no complaints. this is the former holiday inn building and like many of the takeovers of these buildings its because the prior brand didnt want to go to the expense of a refurb in my opinion - everything was clean, but without the refurb their were a few areas looking a little run down (some flaky paint on the bathroom doorframe, some walls needing a lick of paint, etc) but overall nothing major at a budget hotel pricepoint. would stay again as it hits all my requirements - clean, warm, comfy, parking and wifi

6/10 Good

I booked because wifi was advertised and it was essential for my work. I came back at 2.30 from a local meeting for a zoom meeting set for 3.30 on Wednesday to find there was no wifi. The staff did not seem to mind and there was still no wifi when I left on Thursday morning. I received no apology or reimbursement for the lack of the advertised facility. A glass of wine in the bar was £9. I decided to do without wine.
Veronica, 4-night trip

2/10 Poor

Hotels dot com did not tell me the property had changed owners and my booking was no longer valid. Arrived to check in and had to pay for another room other than the one I thought I had previously booked

What stay !!! No stay turned away. No booking. Hotel has changed hands and they said that YOU knew. Left high and dry nowhere to stay. Weekend ruined. I will wait for your response then review. Look out for the review. REFUND IMMEDIATELY

Maybe try somewhere else...
Where do I begin? From advertising free car parking when it's actually not, to room keys that refuse to let you into your room, to the handle on the window in the room nearly falling off... Welcome to Fawlty Towers. - Car Parking is NOT free. No matter what any online booking agent tells you, there is a requirement to pay and that is despite any false advertisements online. - Room keys. Always ask for two because you can guarantee the one you get given will not work. The second one probably won't work either and then there will be nobody at reception to help you gain access to the room you have paid for. - Windows. Don't touch them, like really, don't. When I finally got into Fort Knox, the room was like the inside of an oven. So, naturally, you go to open the window, just to find the handle nearly comes off when you do so. If you like it hot, perfect, if not, stay somewhere else! - Service. What service? I went to check in after discovering you had to pay for parking (Hotels.com advertised the hotel as having free car parking when I booked), however the young lass at the check in counter (who must've been skipping school to work there) was having a lovely chat with some other guests. It wasn't even about the hotel, just a general chat. 10 minutes passed before she finally decided to actually do her job, and at this point, I had to argue about the car parking. A very dissatisfied experience and definitely one to avoid if you can.

The breakfast was extremely limited, a lot of the items were empty, what was available was gross. The buffet was a mess, it looked like there had been a food fight. The staff was rude, my check in was extremely slow as the desk staff insisted on giving his opinions, as he assumed I was foreign, rather than check me in. I understand it is probably a boring job but it was late and I just wanted to get to bed. When I got down to the breakfast with about 40 minutes remaining according to their website this same member of staff made a comment about how late I was. I got very little sleep as I could hear every other guest shouting and slamming around all night. The parking lot is tiny and poorly laid out so many spaces aren't actually usable unless you have a motorbike. Don't count on getting a space, which is too bad as the only thing going for this place is that it is right off the motorway so I had booked it as the halfway point of my journey to avoid driving through the middle of the night.
