Beautiful coastal retreat
I was looking for an off season retreat where I could relax and be looked after. Greenbank was perfect for this. The hotel delivers comfort with excellent, friendly service and delicious food. My room was clean, comfortable and provided all the amenities I needed. Locally sourced refreshments are provided and toiletries that promote relaxation. Situated close to the town it is possible to access all that Falmouth has to offer by foot, although the return does invoke an uphill walk. If you enjoy walking this is an excellent place to visit as off season you can still take a ferry to the Roseland peninsula and enjoy good walking there too. Falmouth has an excellent variety of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Greenbank has an award winning restaurant with river views and food that is very satisfying after a day out exploring. All the staff are friendly and helpful and every effort is made to ensure that you have the best experience possible. I look forward to being able to return here again.
My room- perfect for a solo traveller in need of peace and quiet

8/10 Very good

Good hotel poor dining experiences.
This is a well run, comfortable hotel in a lovely position by the harbour. Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience lunching in their Water's Edge restaurant, my guests had the chicken main course, which they described as over cooked and dry. I had the fillet steak with bearnaise sauce, the steak was so small and there was no bearnaise, as can be seen in the photograph. I don't know what the problem is in the kitchen, but we had to wait 40 minutes on Saturday breakfast for the Greenbank Grill to arrive.

8/10 Very good

Bad start but great hotel
Lovely accommodation, great sized rooms with robes and toiletries included. Tea and coffee options were brilliant, including loose leaf tea and cafetière coffee. Clean and well presented. Drinking water in the room was appreciated too. Ventilation in the bathroom wasn’t the best so there was a little bit of mould in the top corner but everything else was completely spotless and spacious too. Only let down was the poor reception we received on arrival. When we arrived, two staff were talking about us in front of us because we’d made a same-day booking, before realising we were behind them waiting to be checked in. They then made us feel like every little thing was doable but very inconvenient, from checking us in to checking that our room was ready to booking a sitting time for breakfast - questioned why we had booked on the day instead of far in advance and the whole energy was just off, which really ruined the start of our stay, especially as we’d already had a difficult day. If a hotel doesn’t want to accept same day bookings then it would be better not to offer them. That said, the rest of our stay was lovely - we really enjoyed our room and the food was great as always. Catered well to my nut allergy as usual too. They had everything we needed for a short, comfortable stay.

Lovely Cornwall
This is an excellent hotel, in a superb position - both for lovely views and access to the town. We had small problem with our room, but on bringing it to the attention of the hotel, this was dealt with promptly and efficiently in very courteous way. Indeed, every member of staff we came into contact with were all extremely friendly. The attached pub is also very popular.
