Excellent stay.
Friendly welcome at reception, our room was spacious, clean and bed very comfy, bathroom very clean with super hot shower. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, I can't fault our stay. Had a great time and will return again.

Relaxing experience at Macdonald Morlich Hotel
Overall a very comfortable experience. This is the second time we stayed in Macdonald's hotel, opted for half board and loved our meals everynight. Breakfast was great, would be nice to have meatfree options for vegetarians, even if not in buffet but can offer to prepare it if requested, still loved scones and beans and pancakes, kind and caring staff.

Everything was good although we did overhear someone complaining about the cleanliness and maintenance of the toilets

Reasonably priced and centrally located
Stayed for a concert, decent enough hotel but a bit short staffed.
Jill, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very nice hotel with a lot of facilities, downside full of coach tours (to be expected) and my room was close to the lift which was very noisy

Full marks to McDonald hotels.
We happened to be staying on one of their Santa Claus weekends and the atmosphere was lovely with lots of excited kids. The staff were great dressed in xmas jerseys and a lot of elves about. The hotel was very warm and welcoming the staff excellent, and a very comfortable room.

Lovely hotel
Pros - lovely hotel. Clean and tidy. Staff polite, friendly and helpful. Great location. Excellent breakfast. Cons - someone in room nearby smoking in their room and the smell travelling into our bathroom. Bed and pillows not very comfortable. Wakened at 6am every morning with loud doors creaking and banging closed. Unsure if this was the cleaning staff.

6/10 Good

Paying for location
The hotel was tired and very expensive so you are paying for location. The room, especially the bathroom was badly finished and the shower average ..it did its job. The bedroom was small, bed ok and the view was of mountains and resort. It, however, was noisy and over-looked the bins so not much sleep was had. The Italian restaurant on site was good and catered for all tastes. Service was prompt considering the amount of customers. Breakfast was ok.

This large complex is an easy walk to the Main Street in Aviemore. Train and bus station, shopping and walking. The restaurants are great. We didn’t bring bathing suits so can’t comment about the indoor water park.

Very nice hotel let down by the single lift being ‘out of order’ for two days during my stay! Not very nice when your on the top floor!

Weekend Break
Fantastic stay, room spacious and very clean. Staff friendly. Plenty to do on site. Gym and pool fab. Hotel is a great location. Excellent variety at breakfast. Only downside is the price of the meals which has gone up since my last stay in April.
EMMA, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Staff attitude unhelpful and occasionally rude, particularly on arrival. Evening meal at their Italian restaurant made me ill. Room was clean, other facilities are dated but appeared well-maintained. Checked out early. Avoid this place.

Chilled time away
Loved every minute of my 2 night stay, very friendly staff, could not fault it, breakfast dinner were delicious both at the scottish and italian restaurant, the facilities were outstanding, bit dated in some places but overall very clean, bed was so comfy, definitely be back so quiet and relaxing stay
Catherine, 2-night trip

Reservations Disaster
Awful experience, booked 2 rooms for two couples on same booking and they put us in two different hotels on site. No explanation, blamed reservations, guy behind desk sat on chair didn't stand up to talk to us, all very young staff with little experience. Eventually operations Manger gave us £30 off bottle of wine for inconvenience. Had to convince them to let us dine together at breakfast in the morning in oen hotel.
Nigel, 1-night trip

Great food but noisy room
Very good breakfast and dinner, room was a bit dated / tired looking but clean and comfortable, only problem was very noisy been on the first floor lot of noise from ground floor and the very old and noisy lift, doesn’t seem to have any insulation in the walls as you can hear other guests in adjacent rooms and people coming and going through the corridors.
Gordon, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Buffet breakfast was lukewarm. TV in our room only had three channels plus children's programmes. Reception desk was unattended when we arrived. Loved the room....it had a super -king size bed and large shower. The hotel is well-placed for enjoying Aviemore.

Meant to stay in morloich hotel within the complex but this hotel was full and we’re moved to highland hotel but we weren’t informed and no notifications of this so we’re stood about for a while trying to figure out what to do Communication could have been miles better
Neil, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Aviemore
We were very disappointed in the service we received, we were unable to travel due to a red weather warning of not to travel due to severe storm Babet. We contacted both the hotel and hotels.com regarding a refund and they said they do not offer refunds which is very harsh due to the weather being out with outlets control
Sherralyn, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

poor
room not cleaned for 2 days, complained to Manager whom informed me they were extremely busy, Impossible to use lift lift a bus party arrives as they all queue with suitcases to go tom rooms, same in morning trying to get a table at breakfast, tour parties have clearly marked tables, overall very poor
Eamonn, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Upgraded to suite in Morlich hotel. Very roomy, comfortable and clean. 4 HotelS are situated in a campus style parkland, therefore restaurants and facilities are spread between the four, and not all located in the hotel into which you book, contrary to the impression on the website. Not a disadvantage, unless it is raining. Disappointed with dinner in sister hotel - service very good, food average, cost expensive. Large shopping area, which closes at 5 pm., just before most visitors are returning from their day out. Should it not stay open until, say, 7 pm?
Andrew, 3-night trip

4/10 Fair

Understaffed and dirty
The room was fine, very clean but needs a little tlc, broken toilet seat and peeling bathroom door. The public areas of the hotel were a disgrace! Filthy toilets with 1/7 lights working, tables not cleared in the bar area for 2+ hours, staff stressed and shouting at each other. Our dinner on the first night was not good, bland and fatty, when we said this it was shrugged off! The restaurant was very busy and chaotic. If you don't have enough staff to cope with your guests don't book so many guests!
