Enjoyed our stay
Very welcoming, nice (albeit on the small side) room, good breakfast and only a 15min walk into town

Not impressed
Owner was polite and helpful. Somewhat confused in that when room was booked online, only showing two double rooms, helpful that when we arrived, was able to change rooms to double and family room. Room was not clean, sink, shower etc not clean. Ensuite so very small, when sat on toilet you are banging head against the door. Mattress stained and no mattress protector, but bedding and towel clean. Beats me how it got a four star rating. Won't be staying again.

Lovely little guest house
Lovely little guest house. We were staying in the annexe at the back so had to walk through the rain to go to breakfast. The owner was very attentive and helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really nice. Room a little outdated but I can live with that. One thing I would suggest, explain how to get to the very small car park out the back. We drove past the front twice before parking down a side street and running back to ask directions. Takes approx 15 mins to walk to city centre.

Pleasantly surprised.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Acorn, the bed was amazingly comfortable and one of the best I have slept in in a very long time. Breakfast was excellent also. It is a nice walk into the city and there is a bus stop a short distance from the place as well. The Acorn is a little dated but our room was very clean. The only negative I would have, however this is a personal thing, would be black out blinds in the room but what there was adequate normally but not so much in summer. WiFi was very good as well. The Acorn was good value for money in comparison to some of the Cambridge prices for similar and I would assume much worse.
