Recommended for sport lovers that like to spend their time engaging in sports, enjoy an old style small hotel with excellent service. Average guest age fairly high - comfortable hotel around 25 min from Funchal.
We had a fantastic time here. The room was big and comfortable and the resort was beautifully maintained, with lovely gardens. A great place to relax and unwind.
Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety, catering for a wide range of dietary requirements. The various restaurants offered decent food and a good option if not wanting to venture out in the evening.
The staff were all fantastic throughout.
I would definitely recommend this place and would happily stay there again.
All was good, very comfortable bed, lovely and clean, things we topped up when required, our only niggle we had was the lighting made things difficult to read, other than that it was very comfortable.
Facilities were great with little touches like sweets on the pillow. Room had clear damage/marks on the walls not repaired and the service was mostly average with one breakfast at the buffet were we didn’t get seen to at all and had find servers ourselves. Hotel facilities and options were great.
Nice resort hotel in the North West of Madeira, perfectly located for the natural pools. As an added bonus you get access to unlimited free day passes into the pools that require a paid ticket. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. We had a friend call ahead (unknown to us) to tell them it was our honeymoon and they gave us a free bottle of wine which was a lovely gesture.
The restaurant is fantastic ,with gorgeous views and great food. We had a brilliant view over-looking the ocean...
This is our (myself and my Mum) second time at the hotel and it still manages to take our breath away. We forgot how lovely the area and hotel was. The greatest aspect of arriving is walking into the hotel room and finding the curtains closed. When you open them, all you can see is blue sky, sunshine and the Atlantic Ocean...pure bliss.
This year we took advantage of the hotel's cocktail evenings, which were made even better sitting on the veranda in the sun. We were also regulars sunbathing...
We stayed here for 2 weeks in June 2016 and was one of our best hotel holidays. Our room was comfortable, overlooking the pool and sea views, clean, shady balcony and very effective curtains, such that we overslept on many days! Most of the other guests appeared to be mainly a mix of older British, French and Germans which produced a civilised atmosphere and was quiet at night. Of course this might be different at other times of year. We especially enjoyed the food and range of high quality...
Had two weeks stay. Loved Madeira ....hotel was perfect. Did my research regarding the reviews before booking, and went for the B&B only. Some guest that had paid for HB were not happy with the dinners not much choice and not too good! Not many guest for dinner around 23 people! So might be the reason. Kettle and cups provided in your room Take your own tea and coffee as they only give you, enough for the 1st day.
We really liked this hotel. We arrived before check-in time but our room was ready, clean and comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawers and lots of clothes hangers which isn't always the case. As we had left home at 3.30am we were ready for an early lunch and although the restaurant didn't open until 12.30 they were happy to serve us something at 12.10. Madeira is very hilly and to go anywhere from the hotel requires a steep climb up to the main road, this wasn't a problem for us, and...
Wonderful watching the cruise ships come and go. Easy walking distance into Town and the marina. Great pool and grounds. Extensive breakfast choices and very friendly and helpful staff
This hotel was a wonderful choice and every bit as good as the pre-trip ratings and reviews suggested it would be. Well run, family friendly and with staff that went out their way to ensure a comfortable, informed and relaxed atmosphere. It's position dead centre of Funchal meant easy exploration of everything on foot. Despite the hotels central location everything went quiet overnight for sleeping. A modern multi-level shopping centre with a major supermarket and food hall is a 2 minute walk,...
This is a lovely, comfortable, hotel with spacious rooms and great service. The terrace has a spectacular view of Funchal and was great for breakfast, where we also enjoyed the complementary bubbles! The pool is small, but adequate, and the pool area also faces the town and ocean (though sun loungers need an "upgrade" as they are quite worn). It is a 5-minute taxi-drive from the hotel to the centre of Funchal (~euro 6) - walking is tricky as there is no side-walk/pavement for the better part of...
