The Queens Hotel

The Queens Hotel

8/10 Good
"The breakfast menu was very good with plenty of options, however the cooked breakfast left something to be desired, one day I had poached eggs which were partially undercooked and the bacon was a bit too dry and hard. The room was great - no ocean view but clean and spacious , however water pressure slightly low compared to other hotels I have visited."

Mount View Hotel B&B

10/10 Excellent
"We had a really enjoyable 2 night stay when we came down to watch some rugby, and were so well looked after by the hosts — all the staff made the place feel very welcoming and homely. I stayed in Room 2 with my two sons and we all felt very comfortable and safe throughout our visit. The beds were great and we slept well both nights. Breakfast was a real highlight. The full English was excellent — well cooked, huge, and exactly what you want to set you up for the day. The location is also a big plus: less than a five‑minute walk to the coastal path, and for those who don’t fancy the stroll, there are regular buses from just outside straight into Penzance. We chose to walk and took our time, getting into Penzance in around an hour. St Martin's mount is 40 mins the other way. There is parking available, just make sure you register your car on arrival to avoid a fine. Downstairs, the bar has a lovely, friendly local atmosphere. It was great to see local beer and cider options, including Rattler, and the locals were very welcoming. My kids absolutely loved the pool table and it made the whole place feel relaxed and family‑friendly. The building itself is a bit tired in places, but this is clearly reflected in the price and it didn’t detract from the warmth of the stay. For value for money it was exceptional. Overall, a friendly, homely place with fantastic hosts, brilliant breakfasts, and outstanding value. My kids have already said they would book again next year — high praise!"

"Breakfast OK. Not big variety as expected. Hot food is made on demand plus a buffet with cereals, bread, etc. Mattress was worn out and the springs were sticking out, affecting my sleep. Also, too soft mattress. Nice size bathroom but dated. Cold room despite trying to regulate the radiator. Smelly room which has showed that there was no ventilation before my arrival. Thin wall. I could hear the other guest in the other room snoring and moving about. Definitely not 4 star accommodation. "

Additionally, the Smart ShoppingOpens in a new window feature in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you make informed choices. If prices drop or rooms become available, you'll be notified promptly, making it easier to secure your last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could enable you to save on your stay in a hotel in Penzance. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value.
