Malta Marriott Resort & Spa

Malta Marriott Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is situated overlooking the lovely Balluta Bay, which is the quiet and less crowded area of St Julians. The hotel is magnificent and worthy of its 5-star status, which superb pools, from rooftop to very large main pool with plenty of space, the inside pool and spa was very relaxing. All staff were excellent, of particular note was Sanju who provided exceptionally friendly, kind, and attentive service, throughout our stay, nothing was to much trouble and her knowledge of the island, where to go and how to get there was exemplary. Breakfast was fabulous with the egg station at the centre, often managed by Renno who gave a master class for multitasking. A relaxing holiday."

"Overall my partner and I enjoyed our stay, but the first room we stayed had a putrid odor, like sewage. When we notified reception they first sent house keeping to just spray the room, which did not solve the issue, but eventually they changed our rooms. Aside from the smell of our first room, the amenities the hotel provided were top notch, loved the pool, and the location was great, walking distance to the ferry and plenty of restaurants around the hotel."

Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa Malta

Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa Malta

8/10 Good
"We had a pleasant stay at the MARITIM Antonine Hotel & Spa. The location is excellent and very convenient, and we were happy with the service. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was nicely designed and comfortable overall. However, we were assigned a corner room located close to a storage/service area where the cleaning staff kept and collected their equipment. Unfortunately, this resulted in quite a lot of noise, as we could hear the cleaners moving their supplies and working nearby. The room also did not seem to be very well soundproofed, so we could hear noise from the surrounding areas quite clearly. While we appreciated the good service, the noise was the main downside of our stay and made it difficult to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing environment, especially at certain times of the day. Overall, the hotel has a great location, good service, and pleasant room design. We would happily consider staying again, but we would recommend improving the soundproofing and avoiding assigning guests to rooms located directly next to storage or service areas."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Victoria

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most economical period to visit Victoria is from January to March, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a fulfilling experience, it is advisable to stay for at least 4 to 5 days, allowing ample time to discover the city’s prominent landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions. This timeframe is ideal for exploring budget-friendly options such as museums, monuments, and natural parks, as well as engaging with the friendly locals. Visiting during this off-peak season not only enhances the experience but also offers great value for money for those travelling on a budget, as prices may drop even further.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals for hotels in Victoria, you may start by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window sections on Hotels.com, where you could find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. To stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications. Additionally, the Smart ShoppingOpens in a new window tool in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options available. This way, you can be among the first to know if prices drop or new rooms become available for your spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more cost-effective option for your stay in a Victoria hotel. If you're in search of a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised atmosphere and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price be on the higher end, we can suggest alternative dates that might help you discover a more appealing option.
  4. Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres may provide convenience but often tends to come with higher costs. For more affordable rates, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. Independent hotels located further out could offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
