The Chimes

The Chimes

10/10 Excellent
"My partner and I made a last minute booking for a 2 night stay, on the basis of the consistently good reviews of The Chimes. I am so glad we did. It is just a few minutes walk to the town and harbour. Donna, the lovely owner, sorted me out a car parking permit for free parking on the road. Our host made us welcome and was very friendly. The room we had was a little on the small side it had everything we needed for our stay, Everywhere was very clean and tidy. I had read reviews of the breakfast, and thought they may have been exaggerated a little. They were true! Personal choice freshness, taste of the cooked breakfast was fab, and served in a bright and welcoming ground floor room. Donna has advised if we stay again, and we hope we will, to phone her and she will allocate a room on a lower floor of the house, as I have a few health issues, and found the flights of stairs a challenge. Donna recommended a short car trip to Flamborough Head, for views and really great, tasty food at the restaurant there. It did not disappoint. A lovely couple of days which we hope to repeat sometime soon."

For those seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, assisting you in your search for a worthwhile option.
  4. Consider your location: Opting for accommodation closer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often comes with higher expenses. For those seeking more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You might also look into independent hotels situated further afield, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
