Exceptional hotel just outside Dorchester
Mine was a solo stay for one Saturday night. It’s a lovely clean and comfortable room in a family run country hotel with friendly and generous hosts. I hadn’t booked a table in the restaurant and it was full to capacity but the chef made a delicious light meal for me which I ate in the lounge. Everything about my stay was exceptional.

Short but sweet stop
Last minute booking for a race that I had planned. Arrived just before 10pm and left around 7am the next morning. The room was well presented and had everything you needed, good quality coffee, comfy pillows and some lovely welcome brownies. Would certainly go back when I visit Dorset again.

The staff here care about you and treat you like family (I got a flat tire in their parking lot at night and they helped me call my rental car agency and helped me through the process all the way). I only used the room, and did not try the food. So this review is just that. Unfortunately the room I was in was downstairs, and could very clearly hear all the footsteps and movements on the floor above. The room had a very strange smell, and it just a feeling of not being very well cleaned or cared for. The blind was filled with dead bug marks for example. I would not stay there again, and found the parking quite difficult as there were limited spots, all taken.
