Fab hotel in a great location
Fabulous location, only 30 mins from central Austin.
The hotel is fabulous although the bar staff weren’t great
We stayed 2 nights. On the second day we went out at 10am, got back at 6pm and the room had still not been made up. For the price of the rooms this is very poor. We had breakfast in our room on the morning of checking out, very poor in my view. The. Pastries were quite awful.
lovely lovely hotel will definitely go back. everything was oustanding
The Archer Hotel in Austin was amazing. We stayed there as part of a honeymoon trip traveling around Texas and visited for 3 nights though wish we’d booked for longer. The Domain area where it’s located is fairly new as is the hotel and has loads of bars, restaurants and shops nearby including some awesome taco places! The hotel itself is located with easy access to drive into the city centre which was a great place to visit but is far enough out that you can easily park yourself rather than needing to use valet for example and is much more relaxed. The Archer is clean and nicely decorated and has a great bar and restaurant with excellent food and a great value happy hour deal. All staff were very friendly and our room was spacious with a powerful shower and decent sized bathroom. We found the bed to be large and comfortable and the TV had a great on demand feature so e could choose what to watch (for free) on the evenings we relaxed after a busy day. Each night as part of turndown you were given a small treat such as a brownie or cookie from the restaurant which was a nice touch. We thought this was a great hotel and would both stay again if in Austin and recommend it to others.
Very friendly staff, I felt very welcomed. There are a lot of dining/driking options around and a big department store and whole foods market. If you are in Domain for biz trip this is an excellent choice.
Very helpful stuff, clean room. Good location at Domain. Close to restaurants and pubs.
Great hotel, great location, and awesome staff. Only problem faces was that it was during an ice storm, and both rooms we tried were cold. Heating system was set at maximum fan speed, target 73 Fahrenheit, but temp in the room was staying between 65 and 67. At times at night had to wake up from cold. In comparison, my house is 9-10 times larger than the Suite, and I had no problem heating the house to 72 during the same storm.
This hotel would be perfect for travelers going out to clubs until late and returning after 2am. There were positives: the lobby is very pretty, the rooms service food is good and delivered quickly and the bed is comfortable. Also, when we left without even spending the night they did make concessions for us. The negatives: we had to leave, it was so loud. I cannot express how loud it is once the nearby club gets going (yes, during a pandemic). It would be impossible to sleep there. It sounds as if you are right in the club- you can hear the lyrics to the music perfectly. I think we were supposed to know that and book a room on the other side, but we didn’t and no one told us. I can’t leave a good review for a presumably top expensive hotel where it is impossible to sleep.
