Good location
The location of Bassets House is great for the town and the beach. Both Howard and Catherine were welcoming and lovely hosts. The cooked breakfast was very good. We booked last minute which resulted in getting a small room. This was adequate for a couple of days but a bit of a tight squeeze for a longer stay. It was well presented and reasonably clean. The biggest issue wasn't the house itself but neighbours behind, who on both days of our stay, loudly revved what sounded like a V8 muscle car at 4.00 am, this being similarly followed up by another loud but less powerful car at 5.30am. We were lucky enough to have good weather and slept with the window open so this of course increased the noise. Parking was found easily on the road nearby but could possibly be a struggle depending on the time of day or the season.

Great Location. Warm welcome (the hosts are friendly and accommodating). Loved the choice at breakfast and eating outside on the small sun terrace was a bonus - the dining room is bright and cosy. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. Would recommend.

Lovely b&b
We chose this b&b based on previous reviews and were so pleased we did. We stayed in the cosy room at the back of the property. This was adequate for the two of us for 3 nights. The room was small but had everything you need and the ensuite was a good size . Everything was very clean light and bright. Lovely soft white towels, small amount of toiletries if required, nice hot shower. Bed was comfortable and room was very quiet. Tea, coffee and biscuits replenished daily and also fridge available in another room to use if needed.
Breakfast was gorgeous ,lots of choice and the pancakes are amazing. View of the sea from the small balcony just topped it especially as the weather was lovely.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful and keen to give advice about places to eat and visit.
Would definitely recommend this little gem you will not be disappointed and we will be back.

Wonderful welcome, great food and very clean. Went out of their way to accommodate a gluten free diet - going out especially to locate gluten free flour to make our son pancakes.Would recommend this place to anyone.

Simply the best!
Everything about Bassets House is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and clean with some extra touches which make it seem a home from home. The hosts are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Mixed with a touch of Catherine’s Irish charm, the place has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. I am already planning a return visit!

Delightful 5 Star stay. Perfect.
Very warm welcome from Howard and Catherine on check-in. Made us very welcome.
Room 1 is ground floor with a double bed, exactly as we had booked. Their smallest room but perfect for our needs. Big bathroom with walk-in shower. Luxury white towels and nice quality soaps and shampoos. Very bright and immaculately clean room. Equipped with a TV so we can catch the news and a kettle with selection of teas and coffee and biscuits ideal for a cup of tea in bed. And a very comfortable bed too.
Breakfast was a high quality full English and even managed some fried bread for me. Or there was a choice of English muffins with bacon and eggs or you could pre-order kippers. All this plus a selection of fruits and yoghurt and toast and jams, marmalade etc. Served with a pot of strong French press coffee. All superior to the buffet breakfasts at most hotels.
Breakfast room with seaview very light and comfortable. And you're free to chill out on a sofa and read a book from their library or the morning newspapers.
Howard is the mastermind in the kitchen and Catherine manages front of house with great charm.
The whole experience was delightful and we look forward to staying again. A delightful change from the mediocre faceless corporate hotels we often choose and regret!
Thanks for a lovely stay. Mxxx
