Very good
Good location and lovely looking hotel.
Arriving at the hotel it looks great. We were disappointed by the tiny car park, no reference of which was mentioned in the hotel details so we were expecting to be able to park onsite which we couldn't. They do have parking outside but you have to pay, albeit only £5 it would have been good to know as we had 3 kids and as the parking was busy we had to walk 5 mins to unload. The family room we had was spacious, a little basic but covered out needs. Simple things like only having 1 pillow per bed which seemed odd but nothing that was a big deal. We stay in lots of hotels and the biggest plus for this place was the beds, which were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I suffer from back pain which means most hotel beds are to uncomfortable to sleep well but these beds in both rooms were fantastic. That being said I didn't end up getting a good night's sleep as the room above chose to chat until 4am so loudly that i could hear every word of their conversation. The soundproofing is poor couple with the misfortune of having the most boring and loud guests above us led to a long, and tedious night. The breakfast the next day was delicious, full English with cold food buffet, not a huge selection but enough for most and satisfied everyone. Checkout was quick but again we had to double park in the road to get the kids and luggage in the car without having to walk a distance

Great family rooms and stay
Nice to have a family room to sleep 5 without having to take out a pull-up bed, and also that the 3 kids beds are slightly separated from the parents bed (close enough to hear them but separate enough for a little privacy!). Room clean and well-equipped. Staff really helpful and friendly, and didn't quibble at all over an error on our bill. Liked having a bar on-site. Tasty breakfast. Only comment is that the breakfast plates are a little small (would rather have the same amount of food but bigger plate to serve....personal preference I guess!) Great location- 1 min walk to Hoe. Parking restrictions from the council make parking a bit of a faff (£5 for 24 hours and you need to complete a tag and place it in your car), but to fair the hotel have done everything they can to make it easy for you and as it happens we parked less than 10 yards from the door no problems at all. Would stay again if visiting.

Convenient & clean. A place to get your head down
I stayed at the Grosvenor as i was going to out with some friends in Plymouth. Brilliant location for convenience to the high street and theatre. The reception and dining areas are very modern, well kept and made the hotel look fresh and up to date. My room was on the very top floor - which was fine for me as i'm young - however someone less agile may find the 5 flights of stairs a bit too much!! The room was small - but clean. The only area however, i felt let the style of the hotel down. The dark wood furnishings made the room look like an old guest house. Comfortable-ISH bed. The toilet was a nightmare... You had to yank the flush about 6 times before it would do anything, and the shower door wasn't working properly. Breakfast was good for such a small hotel. Cereals and fruit on offer then you could order a hot breakfast if you like. I'd recommend the boiled eggs and soldiers - whoever the chef was cooked them to PERFECTION! I would stay there again for convenience, however the style of the rooms for me lets down the hotel.

The young guy who checked us in at approximately 2pm on saturday 10th august is a credit to the hotel. Smartly dressed, courteous and very professional in his duties. The entire hotel is very clean and tidy and very tastefully decorated. Our room was lovely, the bed is extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was beautiful, i had full english and my wife had poached eggs on toast. The staff were wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. I will definitely stay there again next time we visit for the theatre. I will be asking for a room on a lower floor as we were buggered by the time we got to the top 😄. The only dowside to our stay was a very noisy, maybe drunken disturbance in a room just across the way from ours that lasted from about 11.15 pm to midnight. I dont know how the hotel didnt intervene as the noise spilled into the street. I do, however understand that this is not the hotels fault but we thought they may have asked them to have a bit of respect for the other guests.

Close to the City Centre
Very happy with the service as the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was basic but, perfectly adequate for my requirements. Very happy with the waitress service, and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel also had a licensed bar which was good. All in all, there was nothing I didn't like about this hotel, and it is in that context that I'll be booking a room at this hotel on my next visit to Plymouth. The Grosvenor Hotel, Plymouth has been given a score rating of ten for service and standards of excellence. I can't praise the staff highly enough for their professional service throughout my stay at this hotel.
