Aweful
Worst night I’ve ever had in a place. Hairs on pillows. Quilt had dirty marks. Blinds disgusting. Couldn’t turn radiator off (stuck on full the whole night). Turned taps on in bathroom and both were hot. Took a bit for cold water to come through.

We enjoyed our stay - the room was large and spacious, however it would have been helpful to have a small fridge. We stayed for the week but the first night seemed to be karaoke night, so it was on the loud side until about midnight All in all the space was great

A night to forget
Pulled up at the bay horse on a very busy duel carriageway and was told we had to check in across the road at an Indian restaurant it was a difficult task then had to re cross the road with all our luggage and the dog we were given the wrong key and ended up in someone else’s room had to re cross the road twice again now it was feeling like a motorway tried to go into the bar downstairs for a drink as we had travelled over 200 miles to be told we could not go in as they were having a private party no mention of this when booking to top it off the noise was shocking until 3am at about 1.30 am there was a huge fight under our window there was a line of police cars and the language was atrocious so going to set off now over 200 miles with ver little sleep whilst the drunken revellers a probably having a good day in bed thanks folks

Stop over near Glasgow
After a breakdown we arrived very late. The owner made arrangements to leave keys for us and made sure we knew where to park.

It was a clean room with excellent bathroom and very comfortable beds. Pub below was a little noisy but that stopped and everything was a good nights sleep

Go into Bay Horse which was a loud karaoke bar on a Sat night. Bartender told me to go across the street to check-in. Go across. They give me key and send me back to the bar and our room (newly renovated and clean enough) is above the bar. Floor was literally vibrating from the loud bass and singing directly below us. Left and found another hotel.

Good but noisy when the bar is open
Karaoke bar right below room. It’s noisy. Apart from that is was good

What a pleasant surprise as it was not what I expected. Check in across the road at an enticing Indian Restaurant - able to safely park car in the Restaurant Car Park - room was very clean, comfortable bed, great shower, larger than usual TV. Room looked out on a busy dual carriageway but noise limited by glazed window and noise from pub downstairs was bearable and ended at closing time. Pricing was incredible. Will definitely be back.

Good links from Glasgow to Hamilton
Good place for the price you paying easy for the football at Hamilton FC ground and lots of buses to and from Glasgow

Nice place for a night.
Simple and inexpensive place to stay the night. The check in was across the street--inconvenient if it is raining. The pub downstairs was kind enough to hold my luggage while I ran over. This place was very clean with plenty of hot water, fresh towels, an electric kettle with coffee/tea. It was warm and the window opened easily for a little ventilation. The television had multiple options and worked great. The internet, however, did not work, but that didn't inconvenience me. One thing--the pub downstairs has karaoke on Friday nights, and it's LOUD. Like shake the floors loud. If you are out late, or want to go downstairs and participate (very nice patrons and staff) it won't be a bother, but it was LOUD. There is a bus stop just outside where the 255 runs and will take you into central Glasgow.

Above a pub so some noise is to be expected but they had lardons on until 1am on a Tuesday night.

Dont judge a book by its cover
Surprisingly good in the room given the low price and external look of the place. Tip top stuff thank you.

If you enjoy karaoke late into the night these rooms above the bar are for you. Probably better if you go down to the bar then to try to sleep.

Clean and met minimum standards for its relatively cheap price. Tea and coffee in room. Spacious. Noisy, pub was rowdy until about 2330. As a sole female guest, i felt slightly concerned as a bouncer was on the pub door, on a Weds night! Supposedly due to horse racing taking place in Hamilton. Car parking was at an indian restaurant across the dual carriageway. The restaurant also provided check-in. Was unaware of this on arrival. Not made very clear on booking. Therefore had to phone the hotel contact number and drive back around to find the restaurant; inconvenient.Decorating was also of poor quality.

The owners changed the locks during my stay. They key they gave me didnt work. My passport and all my personal belongings were locked in the place and there is no one who will answer your calls past 9ish. It made me feel terrified that i would be sleeping on the streets that night. I had to shove my arm through through the mail slot and use a stick to unlock it from the outside. I left two terrified crying voicemails begging them for help. Its 2 days later and I have heard nothing from them. I left a night early and opted to sleep in the airport. Never will stay here under any circumstances ever again

Bedbugs
Nice people and a nice room. Unfortunately I woke in the morning covered in over a hundred bedbug bites. Which was a real shame as other than that it had been fine, but the rooms (well, room 1 anyway) obviously need a deep clean.

Not a place to stay when you have children as the bar had karaoke until the early hours of the morning My daughter who’s 11 was upset that she couldn’t get to sleep I was so upset that I nearly left to try and get somewhere else but at that time I didn’t think I could No mention of that there could be some noise

This property is awful, it’s upstairs a noisy pub, the door leading to the rooms is left unlocked and is in a dimly lit back alley of the pub. There were bed bug traps on the windowsill as I came into the property which isn’t very appealing. The check in for the property is across a busy 4 lane road in the Indian restaurant. When I asked the member of staff who showed me the room what time the pub downstairs closed he said sometimes 1am but mostly later. Overall a terrible property with deceiving pictures
Jack, 1-night trip

No on-site reception. No information provided where to check in - it’s an Indian restaurant over road. Not very helpful. Main door to building didn’t lock. Felt very unsafe as the rooms are above a busy pub and door is in smoking area - pub has nothing to do with rooms. Very very loud, disco and karaoke until 3am so no sleep what so ever. AVOID this place as it’s horrendous and description of facilities etc are incorrect on Expedia eg. No a/c, no reception etc.

Cheap but not so cheerful
No front desk, have to collect keys from an indian restaurant over the road. Allowed me to book a room on a friday night directly above a busy pub (with no warning). Some sketchy characters staying in the "hotel" who from 6pm - 11pm were having some sort of teenage pre drinks party in one of the rooms. Slamming doors, shouting, screaming etc... Karaoke in the pub went on until 1am, I may aswell have been in the pub myself it was that loud, my god they were BAD singers, sleeping was impossible! Not good when I needed to be up at 6.30am for work. Tried to contact the hotel via hotels.com message, phone call to the number given in the room and via hotels.com customer service to get a refund for the friday night and they've not even had the decency to give a response whatsoever. Hotels.com also haven't held them to account at all which is disappointing to say the least, shows what's most important to them... It's safe to say it's not the customers. AVOID

I wish I could rate it zero stars!!!!
I thought I was checking into a hotel but when I arrived I found out that it was a pub with a few rooms above! There was no hotel reception. They told me to go to the restaurant across the street to pick up the keys! When I got to the restaurant it was closed! I couldn’t check in. I tried calling the number I was sent by hotels.com & the number on the restaurant door but there was no response. After a couple of hours dealing with hotels.com call center representative and getting nowhere, I had to find alternative accommodation for my stay! I struggled to find anything! It was a cold wet miserable Night in Hamilton!! I eventually found a hotel many hours later after going to 4 other hotels that were fully booked! I eventually checked in around 3am! I didn’t check in to The Bay Horse hotel so I can’t comment on the rooms. However looking at the pub below and the overall building I would highly recommend avoiding this place like the plague! This is without doubt the worst hotel experience I have ever had! The pub is very loud & had a karaoke until the early hours! There was no onsite reception or security! So if you need any assistance or have an emergency, you are on your own! This is very unsafe IMHO! It’s run on a part time basis by an Indian restaurant across the street! If you are looking for somewhere loud, difficult to sleep in, with no security or hotel front desk, The Bay Horse is a perfect option!

Ok in all aspects apart from the 11pm karaoke
This stay was perfectly fine on most points. Really. Stayed 2 nights. Nice and accessible from Hamilton West. First night fine. Nice staff welcome. Room perfectly nice to sleep in. Bathroom clean. Kettle and tea making materials. All good and just what was needed. Have stayed above pubs a lot and know what to expect generally. The first night was fine. Got to bed sometime before 12 and able to sleep well before work. Upon getting back on the 2nd night noticed some noise from below. That’s fine and completely understandable. Some sort of quiz night and a bit of chatter. Music etc. I put my iPad on, headphones etc. Things seemed to be winding down so got my head down. Then all of a sudden the music started really cranking up getting towards 11 O clock. Someone got on the mic - I actually like the tunes and the first vocalist had a fairly good voice. However the volume just kept getting louder and louder and louder. It was directly underneath and may as well been in the room. Other people with less ability and more alcoholic impairment got on the mic. This is at 11:30 by this point. It has gone from passable to really quite irritating and no idea of when it might stop. The main singer kept saying towards the last tune that it would be the last one and it was time to go. This happened about ten times. Each time there had been a pause and some quiet with a suggestion that all was finished. It stopped being funny at that point. Finally got to sleep by 1am. Shame!
