We went in the shoulder season and still waited an hour to buy ferry tickets. Probably worth figuring out the online system and skipping the ticket booth. Visit San Abbondio basilica. It's outside the city center but well worth the 5 minute cab ride.

Love the Como town! Lots to do. Beautiful area! Don't come during a wine festival because it's very noisy at night! Easy to navigate the city and has lots of transportation options!

Choosing to stay in Como instead of other small villages along the lake was the best decision! It's beautiful, convenient, and has a lot to offer! Great food, a lot of wonderful shops, and we will be back soon!

Ferry tickets first thing in morning or online first thing. Line too long and chaotic later. Private boat tours costly but worth the money (ferries apparently ruining old stone walls and fish hatching areas).

It seems a bit residential at first but it's actually very handy for different destinations and there are places close by to eat in.

The outskirts of Como are not what we were expecting (more industrial) but the lake front itself is lovely.

Great spot to take a private boat ride and see all the fancy villas from the water
"Immaculately preserved older hotel in the middle of Como activity. Must do lake boat rides are a few minutes away across the street. The hotel dining is better than anything nearby. Great variety for breakfast buffet. "
"Great staff, really helpful and kind; one of the porters even let me borrow his own adapter as i'd brought a 2 pin EU adapter with me and this hotel uses the 3 pin type.
Good breakfast - buffet style with enough hot and cold options, sweet and savoury.
Would recommend this hotel already, but the location and transport links really help."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help with any enquiry, our breakfast was wonderful and had a good selection for all. The room s hotel and pool were very clean and couldn’t fault anything the waiters and bar staff by the pool were fantastic and made our stay very welcoming."
"I absolutely loved this hotel! We were greeted by Francesca, who helped me with my Italian. She was very pleasant! The room was directly on the piazza, and I could look out. my window and see the shops and restaurants. There were all kinds of places to eat around the hotel, and I felt very safe walking around In the square. I would definitely stay here again, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Lake Como. "
