CHARLESMARK IS BELOW THE MARK !
Following a family wedding in Cincinnati, and before returning home to the UK, my wife and I stayed here for three nights at the end of of our holiday in the US. We previously stayed for similar lengths of time in Washington and New York when both hotels were really excellent in every way. Sadly, this was not true of the Charlesmark in Boston. Our first night's stay was in a cramped room which was designated a "double". This room 307 is certainly NOT a double with barely enough room to negotiate around the room as well as lack of storage for our baggage.. The bed was a small double and the wardrobe was below table top level with no room to hang my wife's dresses ! The fridge was located so high up that it would be difficult for an average person to access ! The helpful receptionists gave us the opportunity to move to another bigger room 101 which was genuinely a double for the remaining two nights which we took up. Be warned that room 103 which we were also shown has no windows for daylight ! The breakfast was described as continental. This was the lightest continental breakfast that we've ever experienced ! No cereal; no basic meat selection; just bagels, one fruit, coffee/tea. Very poor indeed. The hotel reception/lounge/bar decor was very smart with modern and very clean. The genuine double rooms mentioned were adequate with excellent bath/shower ensuites. The receptionists were also pleasant , courteous and accommodating.

Nice hotel
Friendly staff. Clean hotel, very chic. Double bed was on small side but apparently American sizes class it as double which is what we paid for. Was very comfortable. Great location.

Great hotel
Well located, comfortable well equipped hotel. This hotel is well located in the Back Bay Area of Boston. The rooms are small but are well equipped and are very clean. Air con is great as it was very warm during our stay. Breakfast is provided, it is self service and there is a limited selection but it is adequate. Great hotel…enjoyed our stay and would stay again

Good 6.0
not good enough for the price they're asking.
Good location in the heart of Back Bay. Except I found Back Bay a bit boring. This hotel was too expensive for what it was! The wifi was too slow, the bed wasn't that comfy, the breakfast was rubbish, the walls were paper thin I could hear everything! Not very good value for money at all. I tried to check out early only to be told the manager needs to approve it and she isn't in til Wednesday (3 days away!!) Felt more like a hostel than a hotel. I was woken up by the people in other rooms, or the air con blasting loudly. Staff friendly enough but I wouldn't stay again or recommend.

QuickTrip
My stay was very pleasant. Front Desk Agents were very informative and friendly. The Restaurant was closed unfortunately, last time I stated at the hotel, I ate there and the food was delicious. I didn't get a chance to sit at the bar, but it was very busy. Bartenders seemed very friendly. Continental breakfast was ok, not much options.

Quiet, convenient and comfortable rooms. Service was great. I left my Kindle behind and they emailed and tried to call me right away so I was able to come back and retrieve it. Location is ideal for shopping, eating, sightseeing and walking.

Nice hotel, good location
There wasn't any water in the room as it states on the website and the front desk clerk said my room number in a manner loud enough for everyone to hear. Other than that it was comfortable and convenient to where I needed to be in Boston for the evening. The breakfast was great. I wish that I had had more time to enjoy it.
