Perfect stay
Our room was clean, the staff was friendly, the hotel is in a central location, it is a nice hotel, in a quiet location, we did not encounter anything disturbing. We thank those who contributed.

Overpriced hotel in nice area
Great location, love the area BUT Dated hotel, tiny rooms, shower floods bathroom floor. Way too expensive for accommodations.

The Alfred hotel in Amsterdam
We were glad we got to check in early and then we paid €15 to check out later at 1300. One annoying thing was that their key card system was down so they had to escort us to our rooms each time to let us in. Not really their fault it failed but nevertheless, annoying for guests to have to wait for each front desk person to return to be able to go into their rooms. I loved that we were able to rent bikes from the hotel but one catch was that you had to have €50 cash for each bike you wanted to rent as a deposit. They weren’t able to put a hold on our credit card so we had to venture off and find the nearest ATM. Overall, the bed was comfortable, the showers had good pressure and hot water!

Hotel was a lot more rundown than I expected and the bathroom smelt like sewage for the duration of my stay. However apart from this, the facilities were clean, nothing was broken and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The area around the hotel is quite nice even if it is quite a distance to walk to sites. It is an older hotel with very basic amenities. Good for the price.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Quiet and a nice neighborhood. Good facilities. The staff wasn’t mean or rude , they’re just not “friendly” or approachable by American standards. I asked a question about the area and they weren’t eager to talk or happy about it. Haha We figured it out and had a wonderful time in A’dam.

Our room was in the basement and windowless which was not disclosed in the booking. The contenental breakfast was sparse and basic and though it was free for the rest of the hotel, was quite pricey for we dungeon dwellers. I’ve stayed in Amsterdam 2 to 5 days a year for the past 10 years at the same price point. This was very sub par in comparison. Location is amazing though.

I was only in Amsterdam for an unexpected overnight layover so I had to figure out transportation and stay very last minute. Once I got to the hotel the receptionist (I think Eileena was her name) she was incredibly helpful in giving information on how to get around town, cheapest options, and what tours to do. The room itself is great and the beds were unforgettable. Highly recommend, it’s a 2-3 minute walk from the tram and an airport bus stop.

Receptionist on Sunday very helpful, allowed me to check in straight away at 11am and upgraded room free of charge. Room was much higher quality and cheaper than nearby hostels with private room. Will stay again in future.

Wonderful experience! Stayed here one night only and it was great. Location was beautiful and convenient, bike rentals were efficient and helpful, and the room was very clean and spacious. The daytime front desk staff was exceedingly helpful and accommodating. Would stay here again!

All well except the shower came over the top of the screen so flooded the bathroom floor. They tried to fix it but didn't manage to. Hence needed fresh towels each day after mopping up the floor. The staff were extremely helpful hence my 'excellent' rating.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. I had mostly no issues besides the shower in the room. But, the room was very clean and felt cozy for a small space. I did enjoy my stay there.

10/10 Exceptional

The Alfred Hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We had a corner room, so it was a little small but we only were there to sleep, so didn’t matter much. Bikes can be rented at the hotel and we cycled from morning to night to get to Amsterdam Centrum and the Foodhallen. The staff was helpful. The shower was the only thing strange in our room. It was a nice wand and rain shower, but the whole bathroom floor flooded when you showered. It did drain fairly quickly.
