Nice area, ok Hotel, but poor room allocations.
Overall this hotel is ok and in a good district of Amsterdam, slighter further out but easy to get to town through public transport or nice walk through vodelpark, I was disappointed with the fact we did not get the double room we had booked. Instead got 2 single beds. As the costs are high in Amsterdam this was exceptionally disappointing, we were told we could try in the mornings to see if double bedrooms had become available but this is a Very poor service and certainly not what we paid for.

Hotel is located in the nice area. It is close to all museums, city centre and RAI exhibition centre. However, I must say that the cleanness of the hotel was very bad. My room was so dusty and smelly that I was not able to sleep well. Plus they gave me the basement room, which had no window, hence no natural light, bed sheets were also dirty, coffee machine was broken and from the shower cabin water was pouring. Whenever I was having the shower bathroom was like a swimming pool. I asked at the reception to move me to the different room as I had allergy from the dust and they said I have to pay extra for them to upgrade my room. I felt really disappointing as I paid £500 for three nights for this awful conditions and service. I won't recommend this place to anyone I will never stay here again. One last point they did not advertise that room was in the basement or had no window.

Wow, what a dump! (at least the 3rd floor was)
The third floor where we stayed was like a university dorm - scuffed walls / ceiling with lazy patch-up jobs of different colour white - rather than repainting or even better putting new wallpaper up. I can only assume they keep the 3rd floor as terrible as they do because thats where they stick tourists who they think don't know any better? I walked up to the 5th floor and it was like a different hotel. (designed in the same style as their entrance....dark wallpaper print / beautiful lights / dark carpet.) For what I paid (around 700 quid for 5 nights) they should be ashamed of the conditions. If you can stay on the 5th floor, great - if not find somewhere else.
