"We’d booked a sea view room but then upgraded to one even larger and a bottle of chilled fizz! Wonderful to be able to sit by a bay window watching the activities in the estuary and harbour. Lots of drinks options in the room, tea, coffee hot chocolate and water. Breakfast was also excellent. Friendly helpful staff. We’ll be back! "

"We had the family two rooms. The rooms were clean. The reception and breakfast staff were very professional and helpful. We stayed 2 nights with breakfast, which was a good quality and plenty of choice. The hotel was very niecely decorated for xmas. We asked for an extra item and it was delivered by the housekeeping team, who also cleaned the room mid stay plus changed couple of towels. They did not have to do that. We also needed an extra remote control for the 2nd TV and this was promptly delivered by the maintenance team. The rooms were quite warm, too warm at times but you could open the window or switch off the radiator if too hot. The only criticism I have is that of an inside swimming pool, the water was cold, heated but needed extra 2-3 degrees, but they closed the pool for maintenance now so perhaps thats why the water was not prioritised to be heated more. There was a friendly employee at the entrance barrier to the hotel."

"Communal areas in the hotel were stylish, comfortable and immaculately kept. Staff are an asset, absolutely every single one of them appeared to want to be there and make your stay as special as possible. Breakfast was lovely, great choice, local produce and all freshly prepared. We stayed in a "Cosy Double" - room 10 - we knew it would be small (and it really was) so I can't really complain about that but I have to say it wasn't very well kept. There was a horrid smell of bleach which didn't really go the whole 2 nights we were there and the furnishings felt tired and grubby - the carpet was stained and the vanity chair was so stained we actually removed it from the room. This said, we would 100% stay at the hotel again, but would choose a different room."

"We stayed in a beautiful room with a fabulous view. It didn’t feel like a hotel, more like your own bedroom at home so nice and homely. Following its recent refurbishment on the whole it’s a lovely job. Would we stay again, yes we would. Beautiful views across the harbour and the other direction to Porthminster from the bar and restaurant. "
