San Marco

San Marco showcases Venice's most spectacular treasures, with the gleaming domes of St. Mark's Basilica dominating the marble-paved piazza. Visitors weave through narrow passages to discover the Gothic splendour of Doge's Palace and the romantic Bridge of Sighs. The area buzzes with history as orchestras play at centuries-old cafés while the Grand Canal laps against ornate buildings. Upscale restaurants serve fresh seafood and authentic Venetian risotto, while historic cafés offer perfect spots for people-watching. Water buses connect every 15 minutes from nearby stops, making exploration easy despite the crowds. The area's Byzantine-Gothic architecture creates a fairytale setting for travellers seeking Venice's timeless magic.

Santa Croce offers a slice of authentic Venice away from the tourist crush. Historic palaces and Byzantine churches with ship-keel ceilings stand alongside the fascinating Natural History Museum in the Fondaco dei Turchi. Wander through narrow canals where laundry lines hang above weathered stone facades. Discover artisan workshops crafting traditional Venetian masks and marbled paper between peaceful campi. Family-run bacari serve delicious cicchetti and local wines for less than you'd pay in San Marco. Water buses at Riva de Biasio and San Stae connect you to the Grand Canal network every 10-20 minutes. Boutique hotels in converted historic palazzos provide a comfortable base for exploring this quieter corner of Venice.

San Polo

San Polo showcases Venice's historic heart with the stunning Rialto Bridge arching over the Grand Canal. The centuries-old Rialto Market buzzes with vendors selling fresh seafood and colourful produce each morning. Wander through narrow medieval alleys to discover hidden churches and ornate Gothic buildings that whisper stories from Venice's past. Traditional bacari wine bars serve delicious cicchetti small plates, while canal-side restaurants offer romantic dining experiences. Hotel Rialto

Hotel Rialto

10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful place right on the Grand Canal. Right at the Rialto Bridge. Had an elevator and air conditioning. The breakfast buffet had wonderful selections. Very close to water taxi stop for to or from Airport. Great restaurant right there as well. And some shopping stores. Gondola ride available right out in front of the hotel. Staff very friendly. Even took our luggage to our room. Also let us do luggage storage until our room was ready. We got there early. Ate at the restaurant. Room was ready shortly after. I would suggest doing the water transfer from off of the Get Your Guide App. Our friends had to wait quite awhile at the airport for local water taxi. Highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again. Loved the hotel decor. You won’t be disappointed."

All’Angelo Art Hotel

All’Angelo Art Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"This boutique hotel is very difficult to find especially when Venice has a Regatta and the annual Venice Film Festival all in the same day which caused the ferry boats to re-route everything making it impossible for us to catch the ferry direct to the hotel. Other than wondering lost and hiking up over 10 huge bridges with our luggage which thankfully the super polite & handsome Italian men helped me with my bag over every bridge when we finally made it to the hotel the room was impressive with 30 ft. high ceilings with loads of Venice charm, huge bathroom and the breakfast in the morning is absolutely incredible full of Italian goodies and even a Cappuccino/Latte machine. The location is centrally located a block from St. Mark's Square. I can highly recommend this hotel."

Enjoy romantic boat rides through the canals and relax in delightful cafes, all while ensuring great value for money on your trip. With prices potentially dropping in these months, it’s a perfect opportunity for those travelling on a budget.

  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a better deal on your stay in a hotel in Venice. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer greater value. If the cost is on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more budget-friendly, helping you to identify a potentially better option.
  4. Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For more budget-friendly options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you intend to visit. You might also look into independent hotels located a bit further out, which can provide a more authentic and usually more affordable experience.
