The Belfry is a high-end and popular set of 3 golf courses where you can enjoy playing on world-famous greens that have been used for professional tournaments. The Brabazon Course is the one primarily used for tournaments, but you can also enjoy The Derby and the PGA National.

While adults are the most common guests at these courses, you'll find a mini-golf course suitable for kids here as well, with 12 holes based around some of the most iconic holes from Ryder Cup history. Most people spend about 4 hours here if they're playing a full 18 holes on one of the proper courses.

The Belfry highlights

The most iconic aspects of The Belfry are the golf courses. The Brabazon Course features carpet-smooth greens with intricate attention to detail in their design. Keep in mind, however, that this course can be fairly challenging. The PGA National course is also challenging because it's designed to be a tournament course. It calls for creativity as well to avoid its 70 bunkers.

If you're looking to relax with a relatively easy game, The Derby may be your best bet. You'll still find bunkers and water hazards, but the challenge is fairly gentle overall, making it approachable for players of all levels.

Good to know when visiting The Belfry

Visiting The Belfry is largely a luxurious kind of experience. Not only are the golf courses high-end, but you'll also find an on-site spa and dining options. If you plan on visiting frequently, opting for a membership may be the most budget-friendly way to enjoy everything it has to offer.

Keep in mind that this golf course is about 12 miles northeast of Birmingham's town centre. It'll take you about 15 to 20 minutes to reach the golf course by car. Unfortunately, public transit isn't all that convenient, as you'll get there faster riding a bike than you would on the bus.
