Sleepless night in room 7. Awful food
We were put in room number 7. Don’t go there unless you’re deaf because you won’t sleep. There’s a big fan going on all night. I mentioned this to reception after a sleepless night, and my comment seemed to get the person on duty back up and becoming very short in his response. After playing him the recording of the fan noise, he was surprised, yet none apologetic. The bathroom skylight was full of black mould. No ventilation and couldn’t open a window as the noise was terrible. Also, the food is horrible and not worth the price. Staff not knowing much about the food or the drinks - however, the waiters and cleaning people were very lovely and very kind.

My stay
The staff were excellent. The room was not the best we have ever stayed in. The bed was very uncomfortable, probably the worst we have ever had in a hotel; the shower was pathetic with very low pressure, the bath was slippery underfoot with no handrails and the bathroom door did not close as , I presume, it was swollen. The dinner menu was quite limited for anyone who likes simple fare.

Lovely place with beautiful walled garden. Plenty of parking. Lovely sized room for the two of us and our dog. The breakfasts were amazing, lots of freshly cooked choices as well as continental buffet. Reasonably priced evening meal, which was delicious. Very accommodating for people with dogs. We had a very nice stay at the Stratton Hotel. The rooms were comfortable and staff was very nice and accommodating. Beware the spa, worst massages I’ve ever had. They are very nice but the young ladies had no idea how to masssage, the sheets were itchy and oils smelled off. Maybe other offerings are better and it’s very convenient.

This is a really wonderful hotel. From the moment we stepped through the front door, there was such a lovely warm welcoming friendly feel to the place. The staff were all wonderful, too many to mention by name, but every one of them being extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Emma, on reception, really made this place as she was friendly, bubbly, always happy and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 11, which was a feature room overlooking the garden and this was an extremely spacious room, beautifully decorated. We will definitely be returning to Stratton house Hotel & Spa.
