We liked the room itself - comfortable bed, decent amount of space and tidy bathroom. Unfortunately, this satisfaction didn’t last long; the room didn’t include the pod-style coffee machine that was advertised, there was no shampoo/conditioner in the shower, we were provided 2 full sized towels with visible stains on them and were disappointed with a basement room after paying for the ‘King room” which was advertised with photos of a much nicer room upstairs. Also worth mentioning, 1 night into our stay, the included Netflix account with aptly named profile “Whoever is staying here plz use this one” stopped working citing “This TV isn’t part of your Netflix household”. The rooms are not soundproofed nearly enough; we heard people walking up and down the stairs late at night, arguments in other rooms and the door swinging shut at the top of the stairs (who decided to omit a soft-close mechanism in a property with such sub-par soundproofing??)
The location of the property however, was tremendous; a short walk from the Hoe, City centre and Walkabout bus stop.
Would not consider staying with this chain again, they don’t stack up compared to Marriott hotels like Moxy and are of a similar price. Overall, fairly disappointing.
