Overated, understaffed and broken case fiasco
Overall disappointed. Rather surly welcome and got told “wait in line” for my turn upon arriving when I was merely asking for directions to the car park as opposed to checking in.
Room was large, but dated. Phone did not work so not ideal for room service and to order milk for young child and also a slight H&S problem. Bar staff were lovely, breakfast was waiter service and very attentive. However, they offered to take our bags to room when we arrived which was a nice gesture, but broke retractable handle on brand new suitcase. When pointing this out to the FOH manager, no apology or explanation was given just that any damage sustained to baggage during the stay (ie. From taking it up one floor by the porter) is not the hotels responsibility. Shifting the liability back onto the customer when this customer didn’t even ask for the bags to be brought to the room. This one suitcase cost as much as our stay and with not even an apology, or willingness to do anything about it or the cost of it, we left the hotel rather disgruntled. Our family business is a travel agency and I’ve stayed all over the world in 4/5 star hotels and this one lacks the fundamentals. The front desk was left unmanned way too many times and then met with borderline rudeness when it was attended. Will not be recommending when they is plenty more establishments in the area with inclusive parking, less dated and sorry, but happier staff!
