2/10 Poor

Extremely disappointed
The hotel was clean but the experience was horrible. The booking was wrong and the l was told it was made by Expedia and not hotels com. When we got to the room they had given us a cot for a 13 year old to sleep in. It took ages to sort out the beds and we had to make up the sofa bed ourselves. Our food and drink allowance hadn't been added and the receptionist argued with me until l showed my confirmation receipt on my phone. In the morning the waiter told us we couldn't have breakfast as we hadn't paid, it was humiliating standing in the middle of a busy restaurant with an orange juice in my hand and having to go and get proof of payment. The evening receptionist obviously hadn't rectified the information. We found it very upsetting and embarrassing and would not consider staying again.

Could have been so good
Firstly the room rate was £150 per night with no breakfast, so expectations were based on that! I arrived at 1:30am after a 5hr drive and whilst i appreciate check in is from 3pm, i stay away 2 nights per week and i often arrive before 3pm, Firstly lodge/hotel has no reception and a sign says Check in across road at Hotel and Spa, i walked over only to be told to check in at the pub and its too early, i walk to the pub to be told its too early, but IF my room is ready, i can have early check in for £30!! £30 for EARLY CHECK IN! for a room that im already paying £150 a night for, itll be my room in 1.5hrs anyway so why the £30? All this does is start things off on a bad footing, i expect to pay for a late check out as you need to get rooms ready, but not check in! So thats why ive given it 2 stars, that and its not a £150 bed only kind of place

Very comfortable and clean room, powerful shower, helpful and friendly staff. Convenient location-just off M5/M4 motorway. The food was great at the black sheep also. I loved the relaxing music played at and outside the 'black sheep', made me feel relaxed.

I recommend this hotel for its modern amenities, its proximity to the M5/M4 and the option of fine dining at its sister hotel Azteca across the driveway.

Food was excellent as was the service, only negative was the toilet flush worked 1 out of 10 times so a bit of a bind having to repeatedly press button to eventually get it to flush. Overall though a great budget hotel and excellent value for money

This property is set within an industrial estate across from the Aztec Hotel & Spa. You check in via the pub/restaurant next door called the Black Sheep. The supervisor was great & very accommodating to my daughter who is a wheelchair user. Room was excellent, quiet & clean. Great base for touring the area around, as long as you have transport. Would highly recommend & would definitely stay again if in the area.

Location isn't the best, but its easy to catch a bus from nearby. Property is perfectly fine. Bed was super comfy. Room was clean. You might get a little wet if it's rainy when trying to reach the pub right next to it which is where breakfast is held, but it's only a few yards. Staff are lovely.
