Ready for a face lift
We have stayed at the Corus the same weekend for the last 5 years. The service has always been good but the hotel is looking very tired once you move away from the reception area. We had a message to say that the hotel was closing the day we left for work to be carried out but it didn't say what the work would be. Hopefully it will be a refit. The breakfast this year was a let down. Not as much choice as usuall but we put this down to the closure. We use this hotel as we attend the Albert Hall so it is ideally positioned for a walk through Hyde Park. Hopefully the work being done brings the hotel up to date. It will be a shame if not.

2/10 Poor

I used to stay here a lot for work. It has gone downhill. On arrival, Dante at the check in desk showed no interest and was unhelpful. We had 7 luggage items and were told to go and get the trolley from behind the concierge desk. The staff on our last day were more helpful though. The room had stains all over the carpet. I won’t stay here again, despite staying regularly pre-pandemic.

Lovely hotel
Hotel was lovely and staff were really helpful and polite. Everything we needed was available and breakfast was delicious. The location was great, right opposite Hyde Park and wish we could've stayed longer.

Noisy hotel with uninterested staff
We paid to upgrade to an executive room, but were not told it was directly above the service entrance to the hotel. So paid extra to be woken at 6am by extremely noisy delivery people lasting until 7.30am. When we informed reception of this on check out they were less than interested and didn’t offer to refund the upgrade which would have been the decent thing to do.

Poor room
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was good, but the room was a disappointment. We paid extra for a better room, but it really wasn't up to much, not helped by the absence of a tv remote controller and poor facilities in the bathroom. The water heat in the shower could not be adjusted and there was only one tiny bottle of gel and a single tiny piece of soap for two people. The decoration of the room and bathroom left a lot to be desired.

Good location- terrible cleaning
Such a shame. I used this hotel just as a room to sleep in as I was straight out and then back late at night. Unfortunately the sink was broken with the plug stuck- I had the lovely pleasure of other people’s pubic hair floating around. Following on from this, there must have been a hole in the window or it might have just been single glazing as it was freezing even with the heating turned up. I did mention to front desk as I left what a shame it was.

Nice hotel and great location
Wasn’t a long stay, but the single room was fine if a little careworn. Location is main plus, great being next to the park and close to Oxford Street and transport links. But everything worked and had no major problems. Only issue was the drainage, which was very slow for the shower so was ankle deep in the bathtub after a 5 min shower.

Very poor condition
We were given a room on the ground floor. The window did not shut properly and the room was damp. The window also was singled glazed and it rattled in the wind. We moved to a room on the top floor and we moved because it was warmer but the maintenance man turned up with 3 plug in heaters as the air conditioning was not working and there was mould on the pillow cases when we went to go to sleep

Functional and satisfactory, but not luxury
I often stay at this hotel when I am in London for business. It's convenient and comfortable, with less street noise than many city hotels. The rooms are well equipped and functional. The AC is efficient and not too noisy. The restaurant does a good club sandwich and the staff are always professional and helpful. I wouldn't stay here for a special ocassion because the price is too high for the standard offered and the rooms need renovating.

Between Paddington and Hyde Park
The Corus is well situated between Paddington and Hyde Park. So in one direction you have the beauty of nature and wide open spaces (the gorgeous Italian Gardens!) and in the other you have access to Paddington and the whole of London and beyond. Located within easy distance of the Circle Line. Access to the city while still being quiet and off the beaten path. My room was spacious and comfortable. My only complaint was a lack of places for clothes so I had to live out of my suitcase.

Disappointing
The room was very small and dated, only one chair for a room that sleeps two people. TV was small and barely visible from the bed. The bed was against one wall so could only be accessed from one side or the end. Have had much larger rooms for less then the price we paid. Overall very disappointed and will not be staying here again

Single room clean but basic. Good breakfast
Stayed Nov 2024 solo traveller single room. Prices for this room vary on time of year etc and I paid £144 for B&B which overall felt too much (£100 would be better maximum). Bed OK but thin walls I could hear my neighbour talk. Downsides: Shower not tall I am 178cm 5'10" do not stay if you are taller! Also couldnt detach shower head and there wasn't a fridge. Breakfast surprisingly excellent fresh fruit and good yoghurt, tasty sausages bacon and scrambled egg, tomato and mushroom. Disappointing croissants (cheap, small). . Good machine coffee. Usually stay at Central Park hotel nearby but thought I would try somewhere new for a change. Overall other hotels will remain first choice but wouuld stay again for the right price if circumstances demanded it.

Staff were lovely but a disapointing quality of room and hotel all a bit tired. Mouldy grout in the bathroom, no hair dryer, TV remote didn't work. Breakfast was mediocre - I have never seen pink-ish coloured scrambled egg before and it certainly didn't taste like eggs. Not sure how hard it is to get something so simple so wrong.
