Mediocre stay at Copthorne
A real benefit of this hotel is that it's in a quiet location, so sleep was undisturbed by noise of any kind (and I'm a light sleeper!). However, sleep was disturbed by the TV which kept randomly turning on even though it was being turned off. Rooms could do with a major refurb, there was some mold in the shower room and the air con / heater unit didn't work well. Also, we were waiting over 10+ minutes for a lift downstairs but most were out of order or full of people so we couldn't fit, so had to take the back route down the emergency exit stairs which was a maze. Beds were comfy and the hair dryer was a nice touch and the staff were all really nice.

Didn't get to stay because of Storm
I contact the hotel the night before we were due to stay to let them know that due to the storm we we unable to travel from Ireland and asked could they rebook us for another day.. ( the girl noted that the room was prepaid at this point, and I said yes but as we are not going to make it you can release the room and sell it to someone if it's needed ).. but as I had booked through 3rd party the hotel staff were not able to help me with this.. when I contacted the 3rd party( hotels com) they told me that it was up to the hotel if they would refund or rebook me as the price I paid was not a flexi rate. I understand this but the reason for us not getting to the hotel was not something that could be for seen .. the storm caused such damage in our area that we simply couldn't get to the airport to leave the country .. I would have been satisfied with even an offer of a discount off our stay when we do get to travel again but the person I spoke with didn't seem to want our custom again either way

It was fine
It was fine. Probably a really nice hotel 25 years ago, but doesn’t look like they’ve done anything to it since. Staff were really nice and helpful, bed was comfortable, and the price was good. I wouldn’t have put it as a 4 star hotel.

Ok, not great.
We were only there one night but the hotel is very dated, the rooms are in need of an overhaul. Have marked cleanliness down as the sink in the bathroom wouldn’t drain. Also, car parking spaces are very small!

ok
Hotel is clean, restaurant offering is good, really enjoyed bujis. Overall hotel is little dated but well positioned and good value for location. Disapointments were the number of lifts out of service causing long waits at peak times. Also when checking in there was a queue of new guests and only one receptionist which took an age. In the fitness room no cups in the water dispenser Exercise bike not fully working and cross trainer in need of service. All that said I am likely to book again as locations suits my needs and budget

The hotel is lovely and I have stayed before on several occasions but I have always upgraded my room. This stay I had the standard room and it was very poor with the wallpaper peeling off the bed was like concrete and the heater did not work. If I ever go back I would have to upgrade the room choice. I have stayed in better travelodge rooms
