very convenient location for Paddington. beautiful quirky decoration related to "Around the World in 80 Days" and the British film industry. Lovely breakfast served by a very pleasant waiter who obviously takes pride in his profession. The reception staff were helpful, polite, and cheerful. An excellent find in this area.

Nice hotel for central London & Paddington station
Stayed here for 2 nights initially in a very compact double room which looked out onto Talbot Square gardens. We became aware of a number of men from a hostel next door congregating outside in the evening and could hear them talking even with our room window closed. When we questioned the reception staff about whether this was a normal occurrence they were non committal, but did very generously offer us a room upgrade to a quieter part of the hotel which was much appreciated. I should also mention that there was some food left in the fridge of our initial room from the previous occupants, which is obviously a concern given the current pandemic. The management were apologetic and we were offered a complimentary drink. We ate 2 evening meals and 1 breakfast which were all very good and the waiter (who seemed to work all day & night!) was a very nice man and good fun.

Great staff on reception
We stayed at the Mercure for the purpose of attending a small wedding un London. The hotel was clean and fresh. Our room was small but functional and well maintained. I had a problem with my Uber app but Mario, on reception, very kindly sorted my problem and helped me to order a cab. He was very courteous, helpful and friendly. Breakfast at the Mercure was very mediocre, apart from the coffee, which was good. The service was exceptionally slow.

We had to move rooms as the blind was broken in the first, we then had to request new batteries for the tv remote, all dealt with politely by reception — though I would argue that I shouldn't have to travel 4 floors down to reception for said batteries, they could have been brought to the room. I slept fine, bed was comfortable, girlfriend was disturbed by noise in corridor and outside.

Amazing stay!
Fantastic hotel and service. Feels like a village rather than a hotel the way it is built. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great bar downstairs, the only negative was that I couldn’t get a table (for 1) at the main restaurant for dinner. Great little gym too.

The manager insisted I pre-authorise my card, despite the fact I told him I wasn’t ordering room service or any other facilities. He said he wouldn’t check me in unless I done this. With little option to change hotel, given it is 00:13 at night, I had to do this against my will. Won’t be using this hotel EVWR again. He then tried to say this was for proof of ID!!! I showed him my drivers license and card... not interest. NEVER AGAIN The rooms are incredibly small.

Excellent Hotel Experience
The staff were especially helpful. They made a special effort to help me print Heathrow Express tickets overcoming computer glitch problems. The room had been recently renovated, was very comfortable and while small was attractively appointed. The bath was beautiful, with quality fixtures. Lighting for reading was good. The location was an easy walk to Paddington and there were lots of restaurants nearby.
