Don't waste your money on this one.
There are two good things about this apart-hotel. The location and the coffee machines in the foyer. That's it. There's something like 139 rooms, and only four washing machines and TWO driers. And not the industrial type that dry your clothes quickly - no, they have the type you have at home that take an hour and a half. So what do you think happens when everyone has put on a load of washing, then wants to use a drier? And don't even get me started on the 'kitchen' which was the reason we booked this hotel - we could have stayed cheaper at a neighbouring hotel and used the difference to buy breakfast every day. We had two pots, no frypan and the instructions for the microwave were non-existent. There was a book, which contained one page about the microwave, telling you which light was for what. It didn't tell you which knob to turn, or what button to push to get the microwave to function. As we did not have a kettle or a toaster, I thought I would try toasting bread in the microwave (it had a grill function) but without instructions it was hopeless. I asked the front desk staff, and they said that there weren't any. Now, every microwave I have ever bought comes with an instruction book, how hard would it have been to put photocopies in the unit? The walls were paper thin, and you could hear doors slamming non-stop, and even hear the people in the unit above you walking around and scraping their chairs back and forth. Don't bother with this one.

Exceptional 10.0
Clean, Convenient and Exceedingly Copacetic
This property is one of those places that is unexpectedly perfect in every way (well, except one). After a long travel in cramped conditions it was a total joy to find this place so conveniently located. It is found in a charming part of the city just off Trafalgar Square. That means that just a few steps away you will find so many necessities; places to eat, corner 24 hr convince store, a drug store, all manner of public transportation, a great place for taxies to stop, gathering spot for a number of city tours, and a gym next-door. As others have said this place is within a pleasant walking distance to so many things in London. I was hesitant in choosing this property because I was uncertain if the apartment type amenities would mean a loud noisy family circus atmosphere (and cooking smells). In this case I would rate having the amenities OVER that of a traditional hotel. It was very very nice to have a place for a few comforts of home. The place was clean (no smells). The staff was excellent! The breakfast buffet was adequate (could use a touch of imagination) but otherwise perfectly fine. The ONE matter that prevents me from giving a perfect score was in the bathroom. Yes, a "deep soaking tub" is found in every room but the sides of the tub are high and narrow and not easily transversed. If you are elderly or have a bum knee (or both) it's just not a safe environment to find yourself. Holding onto the mounted rails and the sink for entrance is unfamiliar to me.

Very good 8.0
Staff was courteous at check in. We were surprised they allowed us to check in early, so that was a bonus. We had an A/C issue a few days in, and we reported it in the late evening. Staff came up to address. Since it was late in the date, maintenance was not on site. However, they very quickly brought a good fan to our room, and it worked quite well. The next day while we were gone sightseeing, the A/C issue was addressed and the rooms were nice and cool. Location was great. I would stay again, because it was nice and roomy, as we were a family of five (2 adults and 3 teenagers), which is difficult to accommodate in a European city in a standard hotel room, which would mean needing to book multiple hotel rooms. Bathroom was small, but I believe that's pretty standard in Europe. I didn't care for the inadequate lighting, as it seemed too dim in the rooms. But these are nothing that would hold me back from staying again. Close proximity to the popular sites in London, as well as close to Underground stations, pubs, food (market, restaurants). Really an excellent value. Just an FYI to others wanting to do laundry, the machine is quite small. We just used it to wash the bare necessities in one load, since it's quite pricy to use. I would recommend this place to others and I would stay again. Just and FYI to others wanting to do laundry, the machine is quite small. London Break
We have used the Citadines a couple of times in the past which is why we returned. The staff are always polite and helpful and check in was very easy. The room (224) was beginning to show it's age and is probably ready for a refurb' I'm guessing the room could be for a wheelchair user as the sink in the bathroom was much lower than normal (not really a problem though) Was unable to connect to the hotel WiFi (again not a problem for us but it may be for other customers) There was a smart phone in the room which we never used, couldn't see the point as we had our own. The hotel is in a great location allowing us to walk to all the places we wanted to go to. Perfect for all the theatres, Covent garden and the South Bank. We liked the fact that there was no room service unless staying over 6 nights as it can be awkward coming back to the room for a "break" only to find room service are working on your room. Nice to have facilities to cook for yourself too. We would come back to Citadines again. The price is good for London and as I've already said, location is great.

Does a good location overcome a bad experience?
Arrived early and was greeted at the front desk by nice people who expressed that they could tag our luggage and that we would check in after 3pm. We returned to the hotel around 5pm and were given a room with 1 bed even though our reservation was for 2 double beds. They requested we wait in the lobby but could not give me a time before the room my room reserved well in advance for 2 beds would be ready. We instead waited in the original assigned room with 1 bed and waited for a call. After about 45 min I went back to the front desk and asked for the manager who finally got me a room with 2 beds. The room was very warm but since the a/c was not on until we got into the room we went to dinner & expected upon our return to find the room cool. We returned around 10pm and the room was cooler but not cold and when I called the front desk I received no answer. We were exhausted and just crashed knowing we had to be on a train the next morning at 7am. We returned about 11pm after being gone all day to find the room very warm. Again, no answer at the front desk so another restless night of sleep. In the morning I spoke with the front desk who informed me they were having a/c issues & that a repair company would be out within a few days. I expressed my displeasure so they offered and supplied a portable a/c which helped but was not the same as it would have been with the central air working. The location is great and for that reason I would say try it but make sure the a/c works.
