The hotel is well situated - close enough to be a short walk from the station but not too close! I’ve stayed before and have always found the staff very friendly and efficient and the hotel clean and tidy. First time I ate there this time a the food was also very nice.

The nicest hotel we have stayed in in a long time, the room was beautiful and so spacious. All the staff we encountered were super friendly yet professional. Highly recommend and if we ever venture back to York this is the only place we’ll stay

Lovely 4 night stay in York
Excellent location, equidistant train station and Minster, 10min walk either way. Sora rooftop bar\restaurant a real bonus, we had good weather so that helped. Staff friendly and very helpful, recognised it was my birthday and gave us a voucher for 2 x free drinks. Two minor observations: the settee\couch in our room (506) was very uncomfortable, style over practicality; no recycle bins I could see, even at breakfast no cereal cardboard recycling. Overall really enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend Malmaison and will go back.

Great hotel, very comfortable room and the location is perfect. Breakfast is wonderful and I used one of the business pods for a meeting…so easy to set up and and very comfortable. Had to use the NCP parking which is only a 3 minute walk from the hotel but the hotel offered a reduction (30%) so remember to ask at reception upon check out

Unfortunately we were told on arrival that the room we’d booked via Hotels.com was not available as there had been a booking error on the system where they’d oversold the room type and as we were the last group to check-in, it would be ourselves having to comprise. We had paid for a large twin room with a river view. We were given a small basic twin room, no view. The room was comfortable and the manager added breakfast onto our booking as an apology.
