Old, uncomfortable and questionable security
We were very disappointed with the quality of the hotel. The lifts were old and took forever to areive, every single time. The room itself was also old. The bathroom was small and the bathtub was very narrow making even a shower quite difficult to manoeuvre around in. There were no plugs near the bed to charge phones which is pretty poor in 2025! My biggest concern, however, was around security. At check-in the receptionist was saying room numbers out loud to guests (a security no-no as far as im aware). I shouldnt jnow that the lone traveller in front of my was staying in room 628, but i heard it very clearly. She also read out our room number. Its a concern, particularly for lone female travellers, and staff should be trained better on this. To add to the security concern, our security latch was broken and therefore useless on our door (pic not able to be attached for some reason). Finally, our room was a double but was 2 twin beds, of unequal height, pushed together which didnt make for a comfortable experience. I wouldnt stay here again or recommend to anyone.

Dated Hotel in a Great Location
The two main plus points for this Hotel are the staff and the location. All the staff we encountered during our stay whether at Reception or Breakfast Dining Room, were brilliant. Very helpful and are a credit to the hotel. The location is great, next to Tower Bridge, Tower of London and a 5-10 minute walk from Tower Hill Tube and DLR stations. Have to say on the downside, the Hotel is quite dated being about 50 years old. The rooms especially are in need of modernizing as they fall behind the likes of Premier Inn, Hampton by Hilton or Travelodge. Our room was small and although clean, in the bathroom the hand soap dispenser fell off the wall as did the towel rail. Unfortunately for most of our three day stay one of the four lifts was out of order, anyone staying here needs to allow extra time for going up and down in the lifts as they are not quick.

Excellent hotel and great location for London. The best views of tower bridge. Rooms are now a little tired a could do with a face lift. Still very good but just tired. Breakfast is good. Staff very friendly. Clean, tidy. Plenty of restaurants in and around. Again, best view of the tower bridge you will ever have. Still a good 4 star but rooms are getting past their prime.

Xmas get away. Pleasently surprised
Rather apprehensive of what hotel.would be like due to reviews. However arrived and smooth booking in. Had rang a few weeks before to ask if it would be possible for a twin room due to change in circumstances. Told it would be at the discretion of staff on arrival. We were late arriving so I didn't expect it to have been carried out. Very surprised. Twin room with a fantastic bridge view. The room it self is very much like a Travelodge/premier inn. You are paying for the bridge view. We also discovered that this wasn't best location for our travel itinerary. However if you are visiting Tower bridge, tower of life ndon and HMS Belfast so close. We had food just across the bridge in weather spoons be aware noisy and watch for bag snatches and phones especially . Security in pub though. On departure I enquired about the mini bar/fridge and told it was complimentary and we could go back to the room if we wanted and take what we wanted. (Wish we had known earlier as a can of coke was £2.50+. Must have been 4 cans and 2 bottles of water. Also when you are looking for tea facilities they are in a cupboard bit on view. An expresso maker is on the dressing table . Can't really fault the hotel staff. Seemed friendly, did witness alot of disgrunpled people though arguing with staff. We enjoyed our stay.
