Great hotel
Stayed for 1 night.Good location.Lovely clean room.Staff and service were very good and the full English breakfast was one of the best I have had. There was a minor problem in the room on the night time but this was rectified in minutes.Would definitely stay again if I visited London again.

Just stayed overnight here but had no complaints. Hotel was well located, room spacious and price included a cooked breakfast so all good 😊

Nice hotel, great location
Lovely hotel. Staff excellent. 3 story town house but no lift which is obviously important if you have mobility issues or heavy bags!

Comfortable & convenient
A lovely, friendly hotel conveniently situated for our visit to the ROH. We had a comfortable, well appointed room overlooking a side street so external noise was minimal. There is no lift but fortunately our room was on the second floor so this, for us, was no real problem. Breakfast was good and was cooked to order rather than a ghastly buffet. We shall return.

Beware - Wrong Type of Room, Noisy and Hot
Ok, we opted to stay here at very late notice after finding ourselves needing to stay in London overnight. However, we regretted the experience. We were allocated the wrong type of room: we booked one double bed and one single bed (I can still see this clearly in the booking details) however we ended up with three single beds. As it was already very late, we were too tired to argue. I've stayed on Gower Street before and know traffic continues to be noisy through the night, and this was the case on this occasion. Also, the room was incredibly hot, although the heating wasn't running. On the plus side, I enjoyed the cooked breakfast which was included, but this was not enough to make up for an error in our booking and a night of disrupted sleep.

Nicely decorated boutique hotel but quite pricey
Nicely decorated boutique hotel. The building is old but the hotel decor has been kept up to date. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large and modern. There was an ironing board and iron in the room, which always pleases me on a business trip. Breakfast was good. Quite expensive for what it was but that may have been related to the date I was staying. Recommended for a leisure or business trip.

A great choice of hotel which was to be our overnight stay after taking in a west end show to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Most of hotels in London are well over our budget so we selected the Staunton mainly on price but was pleasantly surprised to find it ticket all of our boxes! “Great service and made to feel very welcome, thank you”

Above average and good value
The Staunton comprises of two (very nice) adjacent houses combined in to one internally. Depending on your room you need to access one of the two internal staircases. On arrival we were told we were in one room on the top floor accessed by one staircase but this was incorrect information, we were actually in another room on the top floor accessed by the other staircase. Only reason for mentioning this is that if you are on the top floor then this involves a lot of stairs (approx. 60)...we were worn up going up, down then up again to the correct room. There is a lot of stairs to the top floor and no lift unfortunately. If you struggle with stairs please ask the hotel for a room that is at a lower level (and basement rooms available also). Once inside our room it was very pleasant. Tastefully decorated, nice shower and ample tea / coffee making facilities. Bed was massive (two doubles put together). Our wifi didn't work.... I informed the receptionist who said she would take a look but it still never worked during our stay. Radiator also didn't work but room was just about warm enough. I mentioned this to reception also and she confirmed someone else had an issue with the heating. So we had a couple of issues but I forgave the Staunton after breakfast the following day.... The full English I had was amazing, not cheap ingredients, decent bacon / sausages etc. It set me up for the day. Also my wife is coeliac and they had GF bread available so that was a bonus.
