Compact, cheap, close to public transport
The hotel is really convenient for Paddington tube; front of house staff were warm and friendly. There's no elevator/lift in this hotel and my single room was on the 4th floor; not too much of a problem for me, but worth bearing in mind if you have luggage to carry. The room was VERY small, but adequate as a place to just sleep for 1 night (all I needed it for). Surprised to find the shower was in the actual room itself and the en suite toilet was too small for me to close the door whilst I was on the loo (me on my own, so not a problem). There was a massive gap beneath the bedroom door which caused a draught. Bed much too soft, but since I'd been awake for almost 24hrs, it didn't matter too much. There was a kettle in the room, which didn't work (apart from the light). And a There is a cooked breakfast included, which I can't comment on because I didn't get to have any. Breakfast is billed as being served until 9am, but when I got downstairs at 8.55am I was told I was too late for it. But I could have toast. Unfortunately, the woman in the kitchen curtly pointed at the clock and said "Breakfast finished!" and a waitress pointed me in the direction of cereal. I couldn't even have tea or coffee. I'd suffered a nasty fall at the weekend, was visibly black and blue, and so had been a little slow in getting down from the 4th floor so was rather disappointed to not get the cooked breakfast. But really annoyed to not get coffee, especially after such a long day, the day before.

Fabulous Location!
We chose The Falcon because it's in a vibrant part of central London, two blocks from a tube stop (Paddington) and one block from a hop on/hop off bus tour stop. And also because it we didn't want to blow our budget on accommodations in a very expensive city. We stayed for 4 nights. Upon arrival, the room we booked was too tight a fit for our family of three. The owner kindly moved some reservations around so we could upgrade to adjoining rooms the following day and we paid a moderate price increase to enjoy a larger bathroom (still tiny by North American standards), bedroom and privacy from our teen. We were there during a heatwave and while we would have loved a/c, a fan helped us sleep along with a large open window. The twin beds were soft, but fine. A basic breakfast was included and we enjoyed beans on toast each morning with tea and coffee. This is a dated but well-kept hotel. If you're looking for the Hilton, this isn't it (it's about 3x the price across the road). However, if you're looking for clean, serviceable accommodations conveniently located to local transportation and lots of restaurants at what, for London, is bargain priced then you need look no further. (The owner was very nice and knowledgable on tourist related questions as well.)

Convenient Location
Location is convenient to Paddington station. Less than a 5 minute walk. There are plenty of places to eat in that area and it’s close to Hyde Park as well. Overall the Falcon Hotel was alright. I traveled by myself and the room fit my needs. The only thing I wasn’t fond of, which I knew when booking, was that the toilet was not in the room. The sink and shower were. It wasn’t the most inconvenient thing but I probably wouldn’t book that again. The breakfast wasn’t what I was expecting either. There was virtually no variety of anything to eat, but they do offer you the English breakfast. It was okay, honestly nothing to special in my opinion. The woman who checked me in was really great. She was helpful and nice. Later on in the evenings there was someone else. I had two different people on different nights and they weren’t helpful in my opinion. So if you stay there, get all your questions out early to the helpful woman. I would stay there again if the price was right. But would definitely bring earplugs since it is in a busier part of town and the windows are single pane glass.

Clean, small dated rooms, no lift, firendly staff
Low cost budget hotel, rooms are dated and small but if you just need somewhere to get your head down then not a problem. On approach to the Falcon it is evident that it is a budget hotel but I was aware this would likely be the case due to the price. Friendly chap on reception, VAT receipt was provided when requested. I would say that the rooms and hallways/stairs have not been updated since the late sixties/early seventies. There is no lift just the narrow Victorian staircase. Not a problem for me but would be if you were elderly with luggage. On entering the room the furniture reminded me of a former Eastern Block hotel! However, the bedding was clean, room was clean and the bathroom (although tiny - struggle shutting the shower with me inside!) was relatively modern. So, if you know what to expect and are happy with somewhere budget to get your head down at night then this hotel will suffice.

Small single room, but clean, well located, quiet
I stayed just one night in a last minute trip and I wanted something cheap, convenient, quiet. This hotel did fit the bill perfectly. Obviously maybe not the place for a honeymoon, but good value for money for a short stay in London. Note: I am quite small and not over-weighted - the room is about the size of an Apollo capsule, and they did fit a shower and wc in it. No elevator. So if you are a big guy avoiding exercise, this may not be fore you. There was no street noise, but you could hear everybody taking a shower - not a problem for me as I just slept the night and nobody took a shower in the middle of the night. It is well located, near Paddington tube station. Plenty of small restaurants within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful.
