First time staying at an Ibis budget. We booked 3 rooms for an overnight springboard to Paultons Park the next day. The rooms are very small and basic with no private bathroom. Our room felt quite hot and claustrophobic. There is what looks like an AC unit, but all it does is loudly blow warm air.
Both beds were comfortable and our little girl loved the bunk bed. The breakfast facilities were reasonable and had a variety of options.
The staff were all very friendly and room reasonably clean, but not spotless. However, some of the other patrons left us feeling a little uncomfortable, including a shirtless gentleman roaming the foyer and when opening the window being greeted with strong cigarette ?weed smoke.
On the listing it says parking available, but there is minimal parking outside the hotel and we had to park a short trek away, which wasn’t convenient trying to negotiate a child and luggage.
There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room, so after a long drive we had to settle for tap water and a paper cup.
I think if you need a cheap room for the night it’s worth considering, however for over £100 per night (albeit including breakfast) when we stayed we were underwhelmed with the experience. I think for that price I would at least expect a kettle in the room.
I’m sorry Ibis but I don’t think we’ll be returning as would rather pay the extra for the creature comforts and a more family friendly facilities.
