Saxonville Hotel
"I travel a lot for work to hotels all around the world and I can honestly say this was one of the cleanest hotel's I've ever been in... on top of this the staff were super-friendly and the attention to detail was better than some 4 or 5 star hotels I've stayed at. A proper, well-run independent hotel experience!"
The Mallyan Spout Hotel
"excellent breakfast menu. A wider choice of beers (not lagers) in the bar would have been appreciated"
Penny Hedge, Whitby by Marston's Inns
"Staff were so polite, helpful and friendly. The room was a great size for two people, it was clean and well maintained. Everything you need for a 2 night stay. Comfortable, good size bed and adequate storage. Location is on a main road but is very quiet considering and has the bonus of buses running regularly, so no need for the car. We had breakfast which had mainy options and money off if you prebook. Real lovely and very affordable."
The Wilson Arms
"Really nice room, food was lovely, staff very helpful Breakfast was a bit late for contractors who could be working in the area as was 8:30 but other then that, faultless"
Saltmoore
"Stunning hotel, stunning location, we loved our stay and can’t wait to go back! Only very small issues be nice to allow pool use after checkout for kids on weekends as my son was really upset as they said we couldn’t . Breakfast buffet lovely - cooked breakfast random - husband asked how he’d like his eggs with his full english and asked for scrambled eggs. He then asked if he could get his bacon crispy and she said of course….he then only got scrambled eggs and bacon 😂. I asked for French toast without anything on it and got French toast with everything on it. Communication issues lol. Quite funny really."
Broomfield House
"The location of Broomfield is excellent, 5 minutes walk from the train and bus stations and the town centre. Our room was stunning, lots of space, immaculately clean and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay and if we're back in Whitby we will be booking in."
LilyRose Hotel
"It's OK"
Elford House - Whitby
"The Elford room was large and comfortable with a sofa and table with chairs. The bed was comfortable. Whilst this is one of the modern self access sites there was sufficient beverage condiments, and a fridge, to allow a decent start to the day followed by a walk to one of the recommended cafes for breakfast. The shower was strong and easily controlled with good quality soft towels. We'll definitely look favourably if/when we return to Whitby."
The Windmill Inn - Whitby
"Amazing time, lovely place to stay"

For those seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer a more appealing rate.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Whitby’s excellent public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value for money to be found.
