The Beresford Hotel
"Get what you pay for all good"
The Alverton
"Excellent hotel about 10-15 walk from city centre. Very spacious room. Historic building with a former chapel at the front entrance. I can imagine it makes a great wedding venue."
The Cornwall Hotel Spa & Estate
"amazing hotel"
Great Western Hotel
"Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Our third time staying here - amazing access to the beach and Newquay shopping. Surrounded by great food, cafe and drink options. Room was cosy, comfortable and just what we needed. Worth paying the extra for parking. Thank you - we will be back next year!"
Camelot Castle Hotel
"We had a lovely stay at the Camelot Castle Hotel, with a good sized room that was clean and comfortable. As it's a dog friendly hotel, we could hear two dogs yapping in the room next door. We also found that the room had a "wet dog" smell each time we returned to our room but were unable to air the room as we couldn't open the windows. Due to the age of the building and retrospective fitting, the bathroom is very bijou, but usable (as long as you're not too large). Fine for a weekend. Due to availability, we had a moor view room, which was lovely, but would definitely try to get a sea view room if staying again. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious and very well presented. Bar staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location, a short walk to Tintagel Castle along the road to the main entrance, and we also walked back along the coastal path from Tintagel beach / Merlin's Cave after our visit to the castle."
The Lerryn Hotel
"Such a beautiful, cosy hotel. Very welcoming, family feel, such pleasant and helpful staff, amazing breakfast, genuinely lovely stay."
County Arms
"Lovely place, just outside of town but walkable"
The St Ives Bay Hotel
"Staff always happy & helpful. We have stayed here a few times, it’s close to where we love to walk around. View is beautiful too"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Cornwall
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Cornwall is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 2 days is recommended to fully experience the region's key landmarks and cultural attractions. This includes exploring historical sites, natural wonders, and cultural heritage, ensuring great value for money during your trip. With prices potentially dropping during these months, it's an ideal opportunity for those looking to enjoy Cornwall without breaking the bank.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals in Cornwall, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions, ensuring you don’t miss potential savings. Additionally, the Smart ShoppingOpens in a new window tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you select the best option. If prices drop or rooms become available, you’re more likely to see these updates promptly, facilitating your last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay at a hotel in Cornwall. If you're in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it appears to be on the pricier side, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, assisting you in your search for a favourable rate.
- Consider your location: Staying in the heart of major cities in Cornwall certainly offers the allure of convenience and easy access to local attractions; however, it often comes with a steeper price tag. Accommodations in bustling city centres tend to be pricier compared to those found in smaller towns or rural areas, which are more likely to be affordable. For travellers seeking better rates, it may be worth considering hotels located just outside the city centre, although this could necessitate additional travel to reach key sights. Alternatively, exploring nearby towns or cities can provide a wealth of experiences while also presenting more budget-friendly options for your stay.
Best time to go to Cornwall
Cornwall has a varied climate due to its size, so the best time to visit depends on the region and your preferences for weather and crowds. If you’re looking to soak up the lively atmosphere in Cornwall, June to August are the peak months to visit, bustling with fellow travelers. During this peak period, the weather is mostly cloudy, with light rainfall. However, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, October to December are perfect for a quieter getaway, marked by light rainfall and mostly cloudy conditions.
