Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam by IHG

Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam by IHG

10/10 Excellent
"We arrived exhausted from an overnight flight and the wonderful staff was able to accommodate us, checking in at 9:30am (check in time at 3pm usually) so we could take a long nap and refresh. The bed was so comfortable. Room was very well appointed and they really thought of everything to make a stay at Kimpton one to be remembered. The cozy lobby with its workspace and many couches allowed for casual conversation, reading, and Social Hour. The hotel is located very close to the train station, tram and shopping area. Despite the hustle outside, the hotel is an oasis of calm. "

10/10 Excellent
"We found this hotel to be well-situated, very clean and with an exceptional staff. We stayed for four nights in mid-November. The location is within walking distance of several of the major museums, including the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh. It is directly across the street from a canal tour ride and the Hard Rock Cafe. It is about a block from a tram and bus stop, including one that goes directly to Schipol. Our room was fairly small. I do not know if they had accessible rooms, but it should be noted that the shower is in a tub with high-sided walls, which could be a problem for some. There was a fridge, a coffee maker and an electric kettle--however the outlet was not near the counter and it made more sense to use the tea kettle in the bathroom. Our street-side room was on the first floor. Even so, it was not noisy at night. It wasn't until the last day that I noticed there was a problem with the window, causing a cold draft. When I reported it, they were very responsive. (In the meantime, I had also requested an extra comforter and recieved that as well.) There's a lovely drink shop around the corner from the hotel. I recommend avoiding most of other nearby restaurants and walking about a block or two north of the Hard Rock to the Leidseplein area, where there are streets filled with a wonderful variety of restaurants.
