Lovely old inn with a good restaurant. The room was spacious and comfortable, well equipped and with a good en-suite.

A joy
Only 15 mins from M6 this place is a bit off the beaten track but is a joy. Room was spotless, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pub itself is full of character and the locals are friendly too. We will definitely stay again.

A lovely 2 night stay, made most welcome by the landlady, couldn't fault it - definitely needs a return visit!

Amazing place, thoroughly recommend.
Absolutely loved this place. Really authentic country feel, quiet location but not far from the main areas in the Lake District. Breakfast is amazing as is the food in general, and the staff are just so lovely and helpful, to the point that when the chef named Dan found out about our long journey home, he wrapped up some of his famous homemade desserts and presented them to us on our way out “so that we don’t get hungry!” Really loved the place and a very authentic Lake District country feel. Thoroughly recommend it and will definitely visit again.

Probably the best welcome and breakfast we've had!
Fantastic place, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was massive, cooked really nicely and could tell it was all fresh. We fully recommend here. Thank you.

Good place to relax and enjoy Cumbria.
Great place to stay. Really friendly staff and great food. Rooms where clean tidy and well kitted out. All in all really enjoyed our stay.

Nice village
Really nice country pub with a roaring fire and good food. Very quiet because the rooms aren't over the bar. Very clean and the staff are friendly. Can be a bit cold in the winter as the heating doesn't come on until 6pm and goes off over night. Could benefit with having individual heaters during winter. WiFi only works in the bar, not the rooms. Beds could be a little firmer.

A Real Find
A warm welcome to a real country pub. Fine ale, a fire and stone floors. A positive experience. I found the service to be first rate, the food delicious and the room comfortable and clean. It is a dog friendly pub in an area of outstanding natural beauty with easy access to wonderful country walking.
