This was a last minute overnight stop. Bar meal was fine and breakfast was the usual buffet style which was regularly replenished. All staff were friendly and courteous. Plenty of parking. Finding the room and navigating around the old building can be a bit of maze. Room was, clean and well equipped with a refreshing shower in the morning.

Food is terrible it’s all frozen reheated and still served cold breakfast is left out all morning stone cold and even the coffees come cold tried to complain asked to cancel the breakfast for next day and said can’t refund us so paid for breakfast and never ate it … got carbonara and was just bacon and cheese pasta was bland it was terrible and I never ever complain but this is beyond a joke

The receptionist was lovely, polite. We checked in ok. The room numbering had us confused. Our party had 2 rooms, both very spacious, but both very cold. The towel rail in one room didn't work. The central heating radiator in both bedrooms didn't work but there was an electric heating panel that eventually warmed up the large bedroom. The hotel generally appears dated. Dirty stains around the door handles and door plates. The dining room on the Sunday night was cold, but much warmer at breakfast on Monday morning. The bathroom had mould around the taps and edge of the bath growing, the spa changing rooms were neglected and the tv in the room is out dated. Also the gym equipment is not maintained, its falling apart and making ridiculous noises.

Beautiful large room, in good decorative order with nice products, ample parking and lovely rural views. Breakfast is not cooked to order, which for the price of the rooms might have been expected, however for a hot buffet it was pretty good and the cold buffet was also good quality. Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't have time to use the spa.

Staff were helpful as at first we were given a room with just a shower, we asked for a room with a bath and were given one. However the water was lukewarm and even after running it for 10 minutes it never got any warmer so there was no point having a bath. Also no heating in the room apart from a small portable heater that had been put in obviously to replace the central heating. Not ideal. Breakfast was average, sausage and bacon was overcooked and hash browns on the hotplates were nearly cold.

We had room 40, which was extremely spacious and well appointed, and very clean.
The bathroom was equally well appointed, but I have one small issue with bath/shower units, that is the very nature of the slopping floor of the actual bath makes them difficult to keep your feet, particularly when getting out after a shower when both feet and the bath surface are wet. One hand definitely needs to be keeping a tight hold of the wall mounted grab handle to prevent a fall.
