Only downside this time was the bed (room 23) - very uncomfortable - thin hard and lumpy - which meant a poor night sleep which was a shame as bed last time was great !

Breakfast was excellent as was dinner.
Overall a really good location and stay.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.

19 Sept 2026The room was a good size and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable, if a little small, but overall we were very happy with the accommodation.
We had breakfast one morning and it was delicious and the evening meals looked wonderful though we did not have the opportunity to try them.
We were especially happy with the location of the hotel as it was so handy for all the attractions, shops and cafes etc. We will definitely stay there again!

My wife and I had reservations on a junior four poster bed , the four poster bed was made of two x three plained wood, the room itself was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, the only things good were the shower and the breakfast.

Although the area we stayed in at the Pied Bull was in another section of building it was light and airy. The room was of a good size and comfy bed. With a large bathroom. The Pied Bull always clean and tidy
The staff always polite and helpful
sure to stay again.
Near everything you need but far enough from noise.
Looking forward to my next trip to Chester and the Pied Bull

10 Jun 2026We couldn't fault anything. Staff we're friendly. We had an evening meal and breakfast both we're very good. We stayed in the Brewers Cottage a really lovely cosy room. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for the end of July.

10 Jun 2026Perfect location at the top of the historic centre, close to the North Tower on the city walls. Very friendly & helpful staff. A short taxi ride from the railway station.
We enjoyed our short stay here & wish it could have been longer.
Thoroughly recommended.

11 Aug 2026Our room was lovely and spacious and very clean. It would have been useful to have a small fridge in the room as the weather was hot when we stayed. A little more effort could have been made with little extras like bottled water, more tea/coffee.
The staff were friendly and helpful and although there wasn't a lot of choice for breakfast it was large and very tasty.
The only downside was, as we had the windows open day and night, there was some noise from a nearby bar and the bins being emptied and beer delivery early on Friday morning.
We would stay here again.
