Definitely worth a stay
Really surprised by the hotel when I arrived the lovely setting next to the canal, nice bar restaurant. Rooms are adequate for a business stay. Bed was slightly form for my liking but that is personal preference. Would stay again when in town for business

Ideal for a one or two night stay, plenty of free parking. an adequate menu with very friendly staff they couldn't do enough to please. For the price paid this hotel was one I can recommend.

We went to horse of the year show which was 9 miles away ,we wanted a hotel away from city centre,had a lovely view of the canal , lovely staff even printed out my tickets for the show ,great buffet breakfast and not expensive

The staff were nice , it served its purpose , could do with new carpets in the room as filthy and carpets were old around so it looked scruffy . Breakfast was nice , didn’t think it was necessary to charge £10 to stay in their hotel car park since it was in the middle of nowhere . It’s an ok hotel , it was fine for a few nights . Think it’s a little overpriced

A private party was on with the disco music and all the guests outside our ground floor bedroom window shouting and singing till 01.30 . Wall paper peeling off bedroom wall, stains up wall from liquids thrown up wall. Large stains on bathroom ceiling from a previous leak, curtains hanging off the rails unable to close properly, not good with party on outside the window, although coffee/tea supplied, no saucers supplied for the cups and no teaspoons to stir the drinks.
Not informed that it was £10 to park the car for the night in the pub car park until we arrived and parked the car there and checked in

OK stay.
It is a decent place but definitely needs an upgrade or refurb as it’s old fashioned and well worn. Very noisy on the roadside section of the hotel and with people talking in the car park up until gone midnight wasn’t great. Plenty of on site parking. Breakfast was limited and nobody around to order any fresh food. As I say it was OK.

It was ok and the food was nice but there was an awful smell coming from the locl sewage works which masked our stay quite a bit. The staff weren't that helpful but it was ok on the whole.

Value for money but condition of room was poor, lampshades broken, wallpaper ripped off wall, bathroom tiles stained and room smelt of strong Asian food. Breakfast ok but budget ingredients, staff are friendly and helpful

Dirty substandard triple room
The location worked well for us as a group of friends visiting family.
We arrived and dropped bags and room looked basic but ok and didn’t spend any time in the room.
We got back approx 10.30pm and then early hours heard a constant loud drip coming from the bathroom which we presumed was a tap. On closer inspection realised both the ceiling and floor were soaking wet so maybe the room above has a bathroom leak?
Early morning tried to make a drink no milk so visited the restaurant area to get some and mentioned to the manageress that we’d had a bad night and were they aware of bathroom problems above us which she said not and we should of come out of room and told night porter but we wouldn’t of moved by that time anyway.
Apart from the flood the shower had a lot of mould inside so not useable and then in daylight we could also see how dirty and neglected the rest of the room was too.
On check out we explained we were not happy to pay full price for the sub standard room and we were told that it was only the GM who could make that decision and I left my number for when he came on duty later which as yet no call.
We’ve stayed before and not had a problem so it’s sad to see it so neglected and we won’t book again
