Watch your stuff!
We enjoyed some things and not ao much on other things. Bed was comfy and views were spectacular! Housekeeping was fabulous. Buffet was good but sometimes lukewarm. Steakhouse and Itaian restaurants ate very good. Beach is tiny and water rough. Party next door is loud Met two people who while they were in the pool with us had their bag with two IPhonea stolen. Theu traced to a house in Cancun. Obviously staff. Hotel did nothing nor dis the police. Staff told us this happens often and to them too. Another girl we spoke with had her drink spiked and hotel just dumped her in her room. We saw them take her by wheelchair. This hotel does not take care of their guests. I wont go back.

Try a different RIU unless you have a plan.
Cons Crowded...you must love being shoulder to shoulder while eating or being entertained. Room AC was fighting to work and the ceiling fan was a sqeeker and hummer. Hallways are hot, humid, and smelly. PROS Food is not bad. The mini bar in the room is RIU famous. The service is great. Lounge was great! Overall disappointment.

The hote RIU palace peninsula is absolutely amazing. The service is great and the staff is extra polite and helpful. The layout of the pool area into the beach area is very unique and classy! It’s linked to the RIU caribe which is right next to it and where there are daily parties hosted, and the RIU peninsula has live music every night. The food is amazing and is so fresh, definitely can taste the difference here from the states. It was such an amazing experience!! 10/10 would recommend

The Gift shop charges outrageous prices. When I asked the clerk why, the sales clerk stated that the Resort sets the prices. $23.00 US Dollars for small bottle of Bananas Boat After Sun is unbelievable! If not for this I would have rated the Resort a 5 star.

When I arrived the receptionist tried to tell me the room I booked wasn’t available then tried to make it seem as if she was going to do me a favor by giving me the room i booked she then proceeded to charge me $35 early check in fee because they wouldn’t allow us to use the courtesy showers that I know they have as I’ve stood at Riu palaces plenty of times, my flight was cancelled due to the hurricane and they reeked do charge us an additional $600 for just one night or to displace us it took alot of me talking to them to be given a fair price it was very inconsiderate i am very grateful that the rest of the staff is still amazing and attentive
